“One Night in June”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

We had one very short night here. The free breakfast was amazing with nice tables and many choices including eggs. Front desk staff was nice but consistently helpful. It depended on the person. Our room was clean and large, a family suite, that faced a fire escape. While we appreciated the room, we did not appreciate the view or lack of it --especially for the price. 9 hours divided by (approx) 279 dollars is steep. There was conference in town so we stayed in a different area than we would have liked , but that was fine and it was closer to our Rental car Agency. AC was pretty loud , but not overbearing. On the fire escape there was a great deal of AC noise.

Room Tip: Ask for view. I have no clue which Cardinal direction or side it would be, but request a view of th...

Perfect location to see everything in the old city and easy access to the rest of Philly. Our room had lots of character, but with all conveniences, plenty of room and a good sized bathroom. Located near a highway but we were not bothered by the noise in our room. Simple but generous continental breakfast included. Very pleasant staff too

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Penn's View Mon. 6/16. It's location in Old City is great for night life. The staff was friendly and made us feel at home. Panoramma has a great bar with a phenonmenal selection of wines and beer.

Room Tip: Get the Vino Viaggio package.

We stayed one night in this lovely hotel within walking distance (4-5 blocks) of all the main sights such as the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Room was clean, staff was very nice, breakfast was very generous in term of fruits and the waffle was delicious. The only reason I would not give a 5 is due to the fact that the television was not working properly, it was an older model TV and some of the channels were not watchable (fuzzy). If you don't care about/ won't use the TV, you won't find any issues.

This was our first visit to Philadelphia and we spent one night at Penn's View and loved it. Our room was clean and beautiful..We could easily walk to most historic attractions. The walk up Market street gave us a feel for the city we would not have gotten at some other hotels we had looked at. The staff was courteous and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable and breakfast has a little bit of everything. After a busy day of sightseeing we had a wonderful and relaxing evening in the bar. Great selection of wines, great cocktails and we spent the rest of the evening making new friends from around the world. We will happily stay at Penn's View again.

We stayed here for a few days of sightseeing in Philadelphia. Its location was ideal; close to the historic area in one direction and the waterfront in the other. 5-10 minutes walk got us to most of the historic attractions: Liberty Bell, Liberty Hall, and that part of town. The City Hall area is quite a bit further, but still easily walkable. If you don't want to walk, there is a metro station just outside the hotel, which also proved useful to us, as it meant we would easily get a train to the main railroad station with our baggage at the end of our stay.

The hotel itself was pleasant and comfortable. We received a friendly welcome from the staff and they did everything they could to make sure our stay was a good one.

In-room facilities were all fine, a little tired in places, but generally clean and functional.

Breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide range of food, including waffle making facilities and plenty of fruit.

We didn't try the restaurant, but it looked good. The bar serves a massive range of wines by the glass - it is equipped with a fancy device to keep over a hundred wines available in perfect condition on-tap.

If we were going back to Philadelphia, we would happily use the same hotel again.

What a gem! The location to the historic areas was wonderful! The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant's food was exquisite Northern Italian.
Best of all, the staff made us feel welcome and important.
