We looked at all the high end hotels in town for a weekend get-away with my wife and chose Penn's View primarily due to the other reviews and the location. We were not disappointed at all. The front desk was very efficient and accommodating, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for a walking tour of Old City. After a long day in town, it was very nice to dine downstairs at Panorama. Portion sizes were just right and the wines lives up to the world class reputation. I feel that we had big hotel quality and service in a more intimate and less expensive setting. It will be hard to stay anywhere else in the City.

This hotel is located in the old city and is close to everything. The hotel was very clean and the staff was always helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent. A buffet breakfast was included which is your standard hotel fair. There is paid parking available right next door which was very convenient.

We recently spent one night at this hotel. The hotel occupies older townhouses in the old city of Philly. It is convenient to several great restauarants and bars(although the restaurant in the hotel came to us highly recommended as well, we did not eat there for dinner). Even though the hotel basically fronts 1-95, we heard absolutely no road noise in our room, although we did have an interior room. The decor was a bit dated in both the main lobby and the room but it was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff pleasant and friendly.

In a previous review I read some complaints about the parking lot next door but we had no issues. Car was parked and the attendant was polite (hotel rate $23).

Breakfast in the restaurant was complimentary and extensive(fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, waffles, toast, yogurt)definitely a nice bonus. Didn't try the bar although other reviews say it is good and it certainly appeared busy when we were there.

We had the pleasure of staying at the hotel for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Definitely a European flair. The staff was extremely attentive and the front desk manager Antonio couldn't do enough for us. The hotel's bar is "Il Bar," known for it's wine selections (120 by the glass) and it's restaurant, Panorama, has some of the best Italian food in a city known for it's Italian food. We lived in the city for more than 20 years and know it well. The Continental breakfast (gratis) was tasty and fresh, my only complaint was that they didn't offer bagels (surprisingly). Another great "perk," fresh coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day. The rooms were clean, well maintained and cozy with inn style furniture. They have just started a boutique which is sure to be a hit with clothing, accessories and great gift ideas. We usually stay in upscale hotels with the prices to match. The Penn View is an upscale, boutique Inn/Hotel and we look forward to our next visit enthusiastically!
