My daugther and I arrived late Christmas night for four days at the Omni. The hotel was excellent. We received everything we asked for and more. We had an excellent view of the park and we were pleased to have joined Omni's preferred club since we received beverage's each morning by our door. The rooms were large and comfortable although housekeeping chose to wake us up early (8:00 AM) to clean our room.
The history of Philadelphia is just steps away and the Art Museum is a must!
Transportation was difficult. We waited in a long, slow line for a taxi from the airport in the rain amidst great confusion. Then the returning taxi to the airport argued with me over the flat rate even after stopping mid-ride to put air in his tires. We did take the train to NYC for the day and found the local trains quite accomodating and easy to navigate the schedule. Great trip!
My hubby and I stayed in Philly overnight on our way down to Raleigh NC from Boston, MA. We got the hotel for $109/night via Expedia. The location was great. It was convenient for us to walk to old City, South Street. We also enjoyed walking around the historic district as well. The hotel was great... it was raining and they provided us umbrellas to us at check-in so that we could still take advantage of the fact that everything is within walking distance. The room we had was great. only complaint is that the carpet looks worn and it probably should be replaced. Other then that, it is easily a 4+ star hotel.
We stayed at the Omni while in Philadelphia for a family weekend Thanksgiving weekend. The location is fabulous as you are within a couple blocks of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall - and the horse carriage tours. Another stop if you are looking for something to eat - is the Bourse Shops which are just around the corner. We found the service at the hotel to be very good. We requested adjoining rooms and this request was granted and we felt like we had our own private "wing" in the hotel. We did not dine at the restaurant, but went with a cheaper option down the street since so many of us and small children. We never made it to the pool area, but a few family members did take advantage of the services offered by the Balance Spa and they loved their experience. The Lounge/Lobby were decorated so pretty and festive for the holiday season and we spent quite a bit of time in the lounge and the service there was very good. All in all - a great stay at the Omni.
We loved this hotel - from the swift, smiling check-in (join the Select Guest programme) to our reluctant departure we enjoyed it all.
We had a large room over the main entrance but even so traffic noise was not a problem. The large bathroom was very well appointed with a nice range of toiletries.
Nice touches - an umbrella hanging in the cupboard for our use; personalised notepaper; free broadband connection just off reception; extremely helpful and friendly staff.
We only ate in the hotel once but it was an excellent meal.
All in all we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if we returned to Philly
