The good: great location by Independence Park and in Olde City, very good service, nice bedding and furniture, terrific high-end ambience, jazz trio at the bar in the evening, Omni Kids program, nice 42' wall-mounted flat panel in renovated room
The bad: pool was being renovated, could hear unmuffled noise thru room door and adjoining room door (unrenovated room), vehicle got a few dings from the tight parking garage next door used for valet parking

The Omni at independence Park really is at Independence Park! The hotel is located only 1 block from the Liberty Bell, Carpenters Hall, Independence Hall and the Visitors Center among other historical and interesting sites. This is all about the location. If you plan to visit that area, there's no better place to stay!

The hotel itself is very nice and has been well kept. My check-in was very smooth, although it did take driving around the block a few times to get a spot in front of the hotel to park for the valet service. My room was comfortable and I had a fabulous view of the historic area and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. My air conditioning wasn't working, but it was fixed promptly by maintenance. The plasma screen TV on the wall was a great touch. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious for an In City room and it was well appointed with extras.

The downside to this hotel would have to be the expense of valet parking. With tax it was $34/day. You really don't need a car with the great location of the hotel and the public transportation in the City. If you are going to be there for a long stay, just be aware! Also, if you need stable wireless internet, stay on the lower level floors. The upper floors had trouble maintaining a good, strong connection.

I just returned home from a very pleasant experience at the Omni Hotel. Starting with our arrival which was smooth, politely received and right up to our rooms. I luckily drew a corner room with windows on two sides and a view directly down to Independence Hall. Huge room - L-shaped entry, big bathroom with terry robes, big soaps and all amenities. Nice closet with swing out doors (not the dreaded sliding doors), real hangers (not those miserable kind that hook into a clip), safe in the closet and the minibar. The room had a king bed, bedside table, big desk with chair and a 3-seater couch with a side table. The staff was uniformely polite and helpful for all of the 6 nights I was there.

Cleanliness was tops, bar was very comfortable. (Drinks about $10 ++)

Cons: dim 60W bulbs in all three lamps in room. I asked for stronger and within 5 minutes a guy was there replacing with 100 W bulbs. They could put a coffee table in front of the couch (plenty of room for one). Dining room service very amateurish (the only weak spot in hotel service). Had breakfast every day which was standard fare. Dinner once which was good.

The location is great! In the picturesque historic district and many, many restaurants within a two or three block walk from the hotel.

It will be my hotel of choice next time I am in Philadelphia.

Stayed at the OMNI during a Business Meeting last week. What a location! Great restaurants, pubs, attractions are all in walking distance. Staff was wonderful! The flat screen TV in the room was great. My only issue is that the bathtub had a lot of rust and needs to be replaced. Still, the hotel is excellent. The room I had had a kingsize bed and a pullout couch. I think this would work for a weekend family outting in Philly too. I will be back with my family. Thumbs up to the OMNI!

  • Liked — Excellent location! Nicely appointed rooms...
  • Disliked — Valet Parking is $28 ... not sure if there was an alternative.

The Omni was in the best location! We were interested in touring the historic areas of Philadelphia, and we were one block away from Constitution Hall and the Liberty
Bell! The hotel was extremely clean and well-maintained. We thought the "Internet Kiosk" was funny -- it looked like it was in an old linen closet -- but it was functional! The hotel gladly delivered a roll-away bed and extra bedding. They had umbrellas in the room, which was nice because it was raining part of the time. Very nice stay.
