Thank you for taking time to write and share your experience. I apologize for the issues you encountered at our hotel. No excuses but I promise a thorough vetting by our staff. As you may be aware, Wyndham has just begun operating this hotel and we have big plans including a renovation of all guest rooms, public and meeting space and a complete reconcept of our restaurant and bar. While most of our current guests enjoy our hotel and it's great location, our ultimate goal is to make it one of Philadelphia's finest. We hope that you will return to see all the changes. Thanks again and safe travels.

“Spring Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

My children and I stayed here for spring break.
The negatives were the hotel needs to be refurbished and updated. The positives were the location and helpful staff. The hotel is located within walking distance to the major sites in the old city district. We had to switch rooms because our room lock was not working, but they comped us breakfast to compensate for our inconvenience.
If you want a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance to the major historical sites then this is your place.

Thank you and your family for spending spring break at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District Hotel. You are so right about our location - right in the middle of America's most historic area. Easy walking distance to just about everything and great value, too. Thank you for underscoring those attributes. While we are not perfect, I'm pleased to know that we recovered from your lock issue - with breakfast. By the way, we will soon be doing a renovation of guest rooms, public and meeting room space and our restaurant and bar. Please come back and see us again. Until then, safe travels.

“Barely Adequate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

The staff was fair, at best. Not very helpful and rather lazy was the impression I got. The hotel was busy due to the New Year's celebrations, and the staff seemed unprepared for the number of people they would be forced to interact with.

The parking is in a garage attached to the hotel, and it comes at a pretty penny. Here is the catch...you get no parking priveleges because you are a hotel guest. Imagine my dismay when I had worked a 12 hour day on New Year's Eve and returned to the hotel to be told the garage was full?? With public parking, nonetheless! Excuse me?

The rooms were small and dank, and the entire property smells like it needs a good scrubbing. Actually, cleaning house from the ground up -- structure and staff-- would do wonders for this location.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We traveled to Philadelphia for a medical procedure for our daughter at Shriners. This hotel is in a good location and also the restaurant is great. We loved the variety on the menu and they have fabulous choices for children (including grilled chicken and veggies). The restaurant is casual so you can go in with children and feel comfortable doing so. Our room was spacious and nicely appointed. The staff were all quite friendly. Especially, Brandon in reservations, and also, Connie in the restaurant. We will be back.

Thank you for your comments and you are right about our location. It's a perfect base from which to experience the history and culture of Philadelphia. Even for the business traveler it's just the right distance - a few blocks from downtown and yet in the midst of great restaurants and shops. There's a neighborhood feel to our location that makes you want to get out and explore. I'm also pleased to know that our staff was "welcoming and friendly". It's all part of Wyndham's renowned CountOnMe service culture. We do hope the next time you visit - you will think of the "new" Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District Hotel. Until then, safe travels.
