I went to Philly on business and was surprised to find The Four Seasons available at per diem (<$150). The Service was exactly what I expected and I walked the 6 blocks to the convention center. Parking is expensive, but I had the option to enter and leave for the $49 per night, which the surrounding garages did not offer.
Lots of restaurants in the area. I ate at the Public House twice and they had reasonable happy hour specials. The room service prices are what you would expect. I mostly ate at the Reading Terminal Market near the convention center. You could eat someting different every day for a month and burn the calories on the way back to the hotel.
I brought my own beer because it's tough to by a six pack in PA. I told a staff member that the ice machine on my floor was not working right (the top cover was loose, so every time it dumped ice it dumped it on the floor). It was the same the next morning, so they can improve on maintenance and communication.
The bell staff, the front desk, the valet and house keeping were outstanding. I felt like they knew me. I checked out in the morning, but needed them to keep my car and bags until the afternoon and they were attentive and flawless. Even gave me a bottle of water on a hot day for the drive back to Virginia.
The fancy coffee maker in the lobby had a line of people and ran out of water (less than a gallon of capacity). The coffee it makes was stonger than I like, but others seemed to like it. As a high end hotel, I think they need to take a look at that. Even big urns of coffee would have been better. I did see a staff member with a tray of cups and hot water providing tea to a group of Japanese business people. I would prefer a coffee maker in my room.
The beds are very comfortable the rooms are clean and the service is great.
the lower rooms have a view of a roof. ask for something high and not over the lobby.
