“Still Number 1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

We booked a room with Four Seasons to celebrate our wedding anniversary in March. They had a fabulous deal that included 2 tickets to Van Gogh and brunch - I think parking might have also been included. When we arrived, the Hotel offered to upgrade us for $40 to a junior suit overlooking Logan Circle - of course we accepted. As a welcoming gift, the Hotel also provided a lovely complimentary desert consisting of a slice of cake a few candies and an edible replica of Van Gogh's sunflower painting (looked like a stained glass window or something). What I love about the Four Season is that they truly treat you as a guest and make you feel special. The suite was imaculate, and beautifully done - makes you feel like you are at home rather than in an "institution". The soaps are of superb quality (L'Occitane) so you really don't need to bring much by way of toiletries - and you will want to take the sops home with you. The staff was incredibly helpful/attentive and of course the meals were all excellent -- in addition to brunch, we also had a light dinner there. The Four Seasons is conveniently located in Phila so you can easily get anywhere (we were there for the Flower Show (Convention Center) and the Van Gogh exhibit at Phila Art Museam). Even if you book a room at another hotel - or are just in town for an event, you should at least have a drink/appetizers in the Swann Room - or brunch in the Fountain Room. You will never be disappointed!

Room Tip: You either want a room overlooking Logan Circle or one that overlooks the lovely gardens facing Cher...

The restaurant was 5-star French, SPA allowed my daughter to use services with my consent since she was 15. The services were awesome. We had the all-day package with poolside lunch and a gift robe and creams were provided. The room was upgraded to a suite. Everything was 5-star. I am a Philadelphian and I felt like I had gone away on vac ation. WE had a package deal that included the Van Gogh Exhibit at the Art Museum- well worth it. Everyone was accomodating. The Spa personnel were friendly and professional. The pool is elegant. They also have an exercise room. The concierge was helpful. ALL AROUND 5star hotel in the city of my birth. Also, our package included breakfast and I was ecstatic about the healthy combo they had which included oatmeal, fruit/yogurt parfait, eggs with sauteed veggies and turkey bacon.

I just returned earlier today from my 10th stay at The Four Seasons in Philadelphia, & it continues to excel at all levels & is truly the best hotel in the city! I arrived around 6pm & was checked in by Cee Gee (spelling of her name might be wrong-sorry!)- she was so sweet, utterly professional, & was very gracious to give me a 4pm checkout! She has helped me during my stays at the hotel before & is such a fantastic & warm employee- she truly embodies what Four Seasons service is all about! When I arrived into my room, the hotel had sent me a lovely amenity with a hand written card from the Hotel Manager with a little shot glass filled with an amazing Lemon Custard- it was a delectable little treat. :)

I stayed in 653 this time, on the 6th floor, with a lovely view of the Fountain & Logan Circle- definitely the best view in the hotel. The bed was perfect as always- the sheets are incredibly soft, with amazing goose-down pillows & I slept very well. While this particular Four Seasons was one of the groups first hotels to open, I really love the rooms here. The large Flat screen TV has super clear resolution & a huge array of channels, as well as a great DVD player- my rooms are always very quiet & are very comfortable. The amenities, such as the bath products, stationary, lavender sachet, etc. are of the highest quality. I really love the overall layout of the rooms as well. The bathrooms are a little older, but the tub is fairly deep & the robes & towels are awesome!

The Dining at Four Seasons Philadelphia is truly flawless! I always order Chocolate Covered Strawberries as an amenity & they always taste so fresh & delicious. The current Bar Food menu in the Swann Lounge is amazing- during my visit, I had the Dumplings, Beef Satay, & Cheesesteak Spring Roll & loved them all, esp. the Satay with this amazing crunchy vegetable salad- super tasty! The service in the Swann is so smooth & I get the sense that everyone enjoys working there- all of the servers are amazing & very accommodating! Loretta, one of their managers is super nice & I loved chatting with her- she makes the experience even more enjoyable & refined! Their bar nut mix is also the best! Dining here is a real treat & something I always look forward to. I have all of my meals here when visiting; it's that good!

The staff at this hotel are really amazing & truly standout 100% Everyone is so kind & make the entire experience seem so effortless, even during this stay, when the hotel was very busy! The Front Desk is lovely & handled the crowds very well & very efficiently. Hands down the best service in the state!!

Looking forward to returning again soon- thanks FS Philadelphia staff for always creating extra special memories & moments when staying!

Best,
Patrick Winkler

Room Tip: Book or request a Fountain View room.

Stayed in a Superior King room on the third level in April for 5 days....spacious, but bathroom had only one sink and the shower had a very outdated shower head!!! Hallway baseboards were in desperate need of paint and the carpet needs replacement! You could smell and feel the dust than no shampooing can aleviate! FS, these are easy to change!

Hotel is only 8 floors, which has a more cozy feel for a city hotel. All staff encountered were extremely gracious and professional...from the doormen to the conceirge. The location was perfect and quiet, as other hotels in town, ie: Ritz, Rittenhouse is noisy. Addtionally, the window of the room opens, which I REALLY appreciated...a big plus as the weather was wonderful.
Will never stay elsewhere while on business in Philly.
