This tour for this lasted only 30-45 mintues which may seem quite short but if you ever want to see what our forefathers went through to make the USA what it is today, I would definitely recommend this. You need tickets in order to take this tour and you can obtain them 1 of 2 ways. You can either get to the ticket center located in the Independence Hall Visitor Center by 8AM (tours go all day in 15 minute increments until 4:30PM) and get your tickets for free (if you go any later they will most likely be "sold out" OR you can reserve your tickets ahead of time online for a small fee of $1.50 per ticket. I reserved our tickets ahead of time and I am SO happy we did so as they were sold out when we got there around noon. To get your tickets just log onto http://www.nps.gov/inde/daily-ticket-information.htm. You'll need to make an account and can reserve up to 10 tickets at a time and select whatever tour time you'd like. Make sure you get your tickets and arrive at Independence Hall at least 45 minutes ahead of time so you can make it through security. Then you can walk around the area a bit before it's your time. There really isn't a need to wait in line as everyone has the same view essentially. If you don't get tickets ahead of time and they are sold out, however, they do take in a few stragglers. For instance if there are 10 seats free (no-shows, etc.) then they will give them to whomever on a first come, first serve basis.
