When we went up to Philadelphia for a long weekend, we had a plan of must do's...eat at Pat's, Liberty bell, Independence hall...well, Eastern State Penitentiary was not one of them. My wife picked up a brochure and found this very interesting/odd so we decided to check it out. When we went, it was exteremly cold, in upper 30', low 40's, but we spent few hours there and could have stayed longer...remind you that we have 10 and 6 year olds. We all were facinated about everything that this place had to offer...the architecture, famous criminals, the history, ghost hunting, and just simply being in an at one time working prison...this is definately up there with the alcatraz and is well worth the visit.
