“PORK”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

One of the best pork sandwiches in Philly. Go early the line gets long. Service is great. When we stay at the Marriott across the street this is our Sunday Lunch before we head home.

“Get The Roast Pork with Broccoli Rabe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Ok. So I'm sure you've heard, Philladelphians like their sandwiches. We're famous for the cheese steak but we have better food, believe it or not. If you're downtown in the convention center or 12th & Arch area, do yourself a favor and stop by the Reading Terminal Market. It's almost impossible to decide on what to get for lunch or dinner. This place has it all. I mean exactly that, too.

But the place you want to stop and grab a sandwich from is Tommy DiNic's. It is one of our crown jewels as far as sandwich spots. It's kind of a weird situation the way the market is set up, so finding the place is awkward. But once you find it, you cannot go wrong with a roast pork sandwich. I, personally enjoy the bitter/garlic flavor of their broccoli rabe with their sharp provolone. The pork is roasted in house, the provolone is sharp and salty, almost tart. The garlic from the broccoli and the au jus from the slow roasted pork just makes this sandwich burst with flavor. Its pretty much addictive and should come with a warning label. The only reason I don't rate this place higher is because I, honestly, have not eaten ANYTHING else. I'm pretty much oblivious to anything else they happen to sell, which I'm sure is equally amazing.

Sandwiches are basically about $10, when you factor in everything. It gets pretty jammed up during lunch hours so anticipate a wait in a oddly long line if you go around noon. Seating in the terminal is scarce and sometimes impossible, so eat standing up somewhere. It's worth it, or at least I think it is.
