I stayed here for a conference and didn't expect much beforehand, but it turned out to be a great hotel in an ideal location.
The lobby staff were always very happy and helpful. The public areas of the hotel were clean and comfortable with all the old historical flourishes beautifully intact. There was free fruit infused water available in the main lobby each day, and a Starbucks for the sluggish mornings. The pool and exercise areas were very nice, and there was a restaurant and bar that looked inviting although I never stopped in, there was just so much to try in the surrounding area!
My room (907) had an gorgeous view of the City Hall(beautiful), Masonic Temple and surrounding cityscape. I found myself staring out the window on many occasions. The room was clean and well furnished and included a refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. There were six huge pillows! Although I had one of those 'adjoining' doors, I never once heard noise from my neighbors.
This hotel is one city block from the conference center, and the walk was no problem. Much shorter than traversing through that monster of a conference hall. It's a block to the subway. One block down the other way and you were at the Reading Terminal Market, where there were so many food options that choosing was tough. I found a nice little restaurant/nightlife area south down 13th around Sansom street too. There was so much to see, it was seriously surprising that I didn't get lost. Especially since I spent a lot of my free time wandering and looking up at all the beautiful old architecture.
It's not very often that I have a hotel stay where there wasn't at least one thing I wasn't fond of, but in this case, it was all good.
