“Good Option For Early Flights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

While you can SEE the hotel from the airport, it takes someone more skilled in navigation than me to actually get there. I ended up having to go over the huge, under-construction bridge that is 76, make an illegal (I think) U-turn, and head back over the bridge the other way to finally find my way into the hotel complex. All told, it took me over an hour to find the entrance. And, if you pull into the complex, you pay the $7 parking fee. (You validate the ticket at the front desk and it's added to your hotel bill, so it's not too inconvenient.)

I thought the front desk was kind of an odd arrangement as it was a circle, off to the left a bit, so one of the desk clerks was facing away from the door. At any rate, the guy who checked me in was fast and courteous. My only issue was that he had a couple of pizza boxes sitting there that smelled AMAZING and he would only tell me about the food available in the 3 Sheridan hotels in the complex. I almost took one and ran, but I was sure he'd catch me before I made it to the elevator...

Thanks to my computer being DOA, I came back downstairs to use their business center to check in and hunt for food. The lobby was loud and echo-y, but that was mostly due to one obnoxious drunk guy in the bar. (They handled him very well.) The lady (maybe her name was Danielle?) on the front desk was fantastic! AND she had a menu for the delicious smelling boxes! Yay! I got one delivered (see other review for Aya's Pizza), watched NCIS and didn't stick my nose out of the room again.

I'm not sure what I was expecting with a name like ALOFT but it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. The room wasn't cold, but felt that way with the concrete walls and IKEA-type furniture. It was an interesting layout - the shower had a smoked glass wall that showed in the bedroom - but very functional. They have a couple magazines in the room if all else fails to entertain you. Because I hoard them, I was disappointed in the lack of travel size toiletries - they had dispensers mounted in the shower for shampoo and shower gel. I was also fascinated by the alarm clock - it had a light in it too so it wasn't just a sound alarm.

All in all, a nice hotel very conveniently located. My only advice is to return the rental car beforehand and TAKE THE SHUTTLE instead of trying to find it on your own.

Awesome hotel. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because we wanted to use the pool but it was to cold. The room was very very warm but the water was just a bit cold. Bartender was and desk people were very very friendly.

First, the front desk check in was fast, efficient, and very friendly on the way in and out. The lobby has music and a big bar so it is not what you are used to and if you don't care for it, just go to your room.
Second, the rooms are moden and well laid out.
Three, they have food, a bar, and fitness center all of which are solid and not the usual airport hotel offering.
The hallways were a little worn and dirty, you are close to the runway, and you have to validate parking, but, you are here for a nice convenient stay near the airport that is not the usual drab experience and that is what it offers.
I'll use it whenever I need to stay there.

Overall a good stay, can check in and out pretty quickly. The snack bar downstairs is very convenient since there is nothing in the area to buy some water or snacks and the price is fair. Nicely decorated rooms and HUGE Tv. I did not eat breakfast at this hotel and walked 1 min over to the Sheraton to have a sit down breakfast.

Room Tip: I think the rooms are all the same to be honest.

I've never been to an Aloft hotel. It was very upbeat, hip & modern. The front desk gentleman was very accommodating. We arrived early & he tried his best to get us a room ASAP. I must say thst even though you are right across from the airport, i DID NOT hear one plane all night. The best part is the accept pets at no charge which is very hard to find in a nice hotel. Room does have a safe & refrigerator in the room!! The layout was very weird when we first arrived but you get use to it. The only downfall is not enough lighting in the shower & the beds were uncomfortable to me. If felt almost like a Murphy bed & the pillows were limp & thin but I would definitely try Aloft again

Had a great but brief stay here prior to an early morning flight. The rooms were spacious and clean.....the bathroom showed a few signs of neglect. The lobby bar and the the limited food service was fine....and the 24hr airport shuttle was a great help!

I love this property. I had also stayed at the location in Montreal, so I was a big fan since then. Just add some palm trees and sand and you would feel as if you arrived in South Beach.
Very chic/hip decor welcomes you into the lobby with nice couches, step down bar.
The heated pool area was a nice supprise.
Front desk, very helpful..
The room, cute with nice touches including the big shower, nice bedding, and large
desk areas additional floor space.
Free shuttle, on time with luggage assistance...

I will be back soon!
