“A great addition to the Coupeville area dining scene”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

The Oystercatcher is a great restaurant operated by an enthusiastic young couple. They are only open a few nights each week but are off to a great start. Food was terrific and straightforward. It was our best dining while in the Puget Sound area.

“Bravo! Bravo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Tonight we took a party of 7 to the Oystercatcher to celebrate a recent engagement.

What a wonderful evening, great food & wine with our favorite friends and their family.

The comfortable and causal atmosphere, with great service made for a special evening.

My wife and I look forward to returning soon to celebrate another great day on Whidbey Island.

“Can't go wrong here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

You are greeted by a very friendly and professional lady and seated where you would like. Open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, nothing to hide. All fresh and local ingredients, I had an oyster sandwich and my wife the mussels and both were great. Nice location a block off the busy tourist street with a nice view of the bay. The staff was very attentive, but not overwhelming. Would make the trip again for lunch and or try the dinner.

“Underwhelmed and Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

Wife and I have been coming to Coupeville for many years to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was the first and last we will eat at the OysterCatcher. Darling wife was told the mussel order was about one lb when she asked how many mussels were included. You would be lucky if there was 1/2 lb. We know because she ordered one lb of mussels the night before at Toby's and they were delicious.

Menu selection is very limited. The restaurant is setup so you can see the cooks. I would have expected a bigger selection based on the number of cooks we could see in the kitchen. Maybe that is why there prices are so high for what you receive.

I ordered the salmon and received a square of salmon that was approximately two inches on a side. It was closer to sushi than cooked salmon. Very disappointed.

There are better restaurants in Coupeville that provide a better value for your dinner dollar.

“a pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

we stopped her for lunch during a " clipper whale watching lay over" We had limited time, and the staff made sure we got our food quickly. Food was inventive ( I had a nice asparagus salad), service good, location charming.
definitely worth a visit.
