“I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2009

The Blue Goose Inn exceeded my expectations. I picked it purely by the pictures on the web site and was overjoyed at how accurate they were. The breakfasts were exceptional and always beautiful to look at as well as eat!!!! Marty and Sue were wonderful hosts and Sharon was absolutely sweet. I loved talking to them every morning and truly enjoyed my visit. I would definitely stay at the Blue Goose again if I ever get back to Whidbey Island again.

We stayed two nights in Coupeville at the Blue Goose for the Whidbey Island Marathon this weekend and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely our stay was! Coupeville is very cute and quaint, with many historic houses. The Blue Goose is situated very close to "downtown" (which is two streets), and is located in two lovingly restored historic houses. We stayed in the "Captain Suite", which was upstairs and overlooked the water.

Our usual accomodation tends towards modern and minimalist boutique hotels, yet we were extremely happy here! The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious and the amenities well thought out (bath salts, wine glasses, lots of soft oversize towels). We had no hot water issues as some of the other reviews noted. The only two negatives were that the temperature in the room was really variable (the heat worked great in the master suite, but the bathroom was a little on the cold side) and the tub was a little on the small size to bathe comfortably (there was no shower). All in all, though, very comfortable, nicely decorated (in a nautical theme) and quiet.

Sue was absolutely lovely, and the breakfasts were outstanding. The morning of the marathon, she even ensured that a full spread was laid out for us at 5AM. Yes, 5AM. In all the places I have traveled to for races, I have not once had a breakfast ready for me that early, never mind with fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins and bread and homemade granola! Very gracious and so much appreciated!

We'd highly recommend the Blue Goose.

This was our second visit to the Blue Goose. It is located in a small, historic community that we have made day visits to for many years. We were given a Bed and Breakfast gift from our children and decided to visit there. The two historic homes that are a part of the Blue Goose are well taken care of,
tastefully decorated, yet have up to date bathroom fixtures, gas fireplaces, and comfortable beds. All of that along with freshly baked cookies, available coffee, tea and water; superb breakfasts and an interesting area to explore makes it a great place to visit. We have already recommended it to many of our friends.

Superb location close to the town, but quiet, and with excellent view of Mount Baker - when the cloud lifted, which was most days. Very relaxed and very helpful atmosphere achieved by Sue. Very clean large room, with 'genuine victorian' bathroom fitments. Whilst that's all very well, we felt the room was a bit sparsely furnished - and none too warm in the evenings. There was a fire, but not working so far as we could see; and I would have preferred a modern bathroom, but my wife thought it in keeping with the whole house - but anyway, that's being very 'picky'. Would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed for two nights at the Blue Goose Inn.
Our room was just fine, but like one of the other reviews we also ran out of hot water. Maybe for us the fact that Sue was away and there were very few guests staying even though we had been told they were full was a let down. The cookies on arrival were great , the internet was non exisitent in the house we were in and there was no phone to use. This was quite a problem for us with a business to check on in New Zealand. We could get the internet in the garden but there was too much sun to view the screen. Personal service was not available and when one of the other guests staying had an accident there were some problems. The houses were very clean and lovely furnishings apart from plastic table cloths on the breakfast table. Not really in keeping with the beautiful homes. Perhaps we had been very spoilt after staying at Gingerbread Manor, EdwinK B & B and C H Bailey house, all of which were just magic places to stay.

We really enjoyed the Bluegoose Inn. The hospitality was outstanding, very clean and quaint.

There only thing that needs improvement (the only thing) is to make sure there is enough hot water for baths and showers in the morning. We ran out in the middle of the first shower so one of us had to take a cold one. only occurred in the morning.

We would definitely go back and highly recommend it.

What a lovely place! I've not stayed at many B&Bs and I was a bit worried about what it would be like to stay here, but it was a great experience. The rooms are quite large and nicely furnished. I had a bath with a whirlpool - that was a treat... Breakfasts were nice, but you need to know that if you ask, Sue will serve earlier than the standard 9:00am, which was late for me and my plans each day. There's a large yard with tables and chairs. Short walk to shops, restaurants, and the airport shuttle stop.
I would definitely stay here again.
