“Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

We stopped by Devil's Tower on our honeymoon and it was amazing and unique to say the least. Basically it is a rock formation that allegedly formed because of river erosion over millions of years. It was incredibly easy to get to and parking was plentiful. There were plenty of trails to walk around the formation to get a glimpse of each side as no two sides are the same. If you want to see something unique and amazing at the same time, go check this out.

“Encounters of the Third Kind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Well, they don't really advertise the movie but when you get there it is one unique rock formation. The rock climbing was amazing and there were several rock climbers to admire and worry about. There is a hike that takes a bit of time only because it goes up and down and around but each side of this formation is totally different then another side. Good hike but not overly hard. Beautiful.

“Impressive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We came in thru the backway thru Spearfish Canyon ... you can see the tower from very far off ...The park is very nice - the ranger at the gate gets people thru really quickly. At the main parking area they were doing some maintenance but tried to be as unobtrusive as possible. To get to the base of the tower you have to walk up a steep hill [maybe some stairs with stopping places would be in order for the future] At the base there is plenty of seating which is where me and my dad stayed. My mom and husband did the moderate hike around the tower. Afterwards we picniced at their picnic area - very nice and clean. Last on the way out we checked out their prairie dog town - so cute.

“This means something!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

yes close encounters of the third kind was right, this place does mean something. The locals will intrigue you with all the stories and legends of this very odd landmark. But a definite must see on your trip. It is a lot larger than anticipated as well. One of the things in life that will make your mind wonder at the majesty nature can provide all around you.

“Amazing... A must see!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Your driving along the highway, very beautiful country, and then there it is!
It's absolutely amazing and beautiful. Many places along the way for picture taking. We didn't go into the park but the lady we talked to said you can drive right up to the base of Devil's Tower and actually hike around it.
I was in awe I would definently mark it as a must-see. :)
