“Spacious Room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2011

We had a pleasant stay. The front desk employees were very helpful & friendly! The room was somewhat dated but quite spacious. The king sized bed was comfortable. The room had mini fridge and microwave which was nice. Close to ski resort. Would stay here again.

Pool is indoors and slightly larger than a backyard pool. The hot tub was very hot and the sauna (unisex) was also hot. Could have been a bit cleaner. The rooms are large and generic, nothing special; however, they do have a small frig and microwave. The free breakfast was basic but adequate, with some cereal, bagels and yogurt. There is a covered parking garage which is nice. We got a good rate from Expedia, so overall it was a good value. Location is nice as it is just across the street from the visitor center.

A wonderful hotel experience. Checked in @ 11:30 a.m. w/a friend after a 2 day bachlorette party w/15 girls. We needed rest & some down time. We were given a room right away. The room was clean, well stocked & very comfortable. The next morning, we headed to the lobby for breakfast. The attendant was very helpful and kind. The hotel Manager loaded our luggage into a nice van, drove us to the airport, carried our luggage into the airport & wished us well. Now THAT is service. Overall, the Shilo Inn is not the fanciest or most modern I have experienced, but, the service, cleanliness & ease make up for it.

The Shilo Inn at Mammoth was a lovely surprise! We have been to Mammoth many times over the years and this hotel was far superior to the others we have stayed at in the same price range. The hotel itself is attractive, very clean, large rooms that include a refrigerator and microwave, indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We especially appreciated the covered parking and the free ski lockers. The continental breakfast included made-to-order waffles that were outstanding!

But best of all was the outstanding customer service! The staff were all so warm, caring and anxious to please. Esther Carr at the front desk made us feel very special indeed! She always remembered our names and always reached out beyond whatever request we had of her. For example, If we asked for extra towels, Esther always asked what else she might provide us to add to our comfort, offering several suggestions. Even the little lady who prepared the Continental Breakfast each morning always greeted us with a big smile and a sweet welcome.

Oh yes, they even allow pets!

If you're not looking for a fancy condo or a plush hotel, I suggest you look no further than the Shilo Inn! We will be staying there on all of our future trips to Mammoth. An excellent value for the money! Enjoy!

When I checked in, the young lady was very nice and explained details about my several questions. In the night, my wife asked towels and other stuff, their response was very quick; a person brought them in 5 mins. The lady serving free breakfast in the morning was very kind. Hye You, My family wanted to say special thanks to you.

Room was very nice and clean. Microwave saved our money as we cooked some in the room. After Ski, kids enjoyed the swimming pool and I used hot Spa. Great!

One advantage in snowing days is that parking lot is under roof. No worry for shoveling..
Ski rental store(don't forget printing the coupon for 20% discount)/rite Aid is just 1min walk distance and shuttle to Mammoth is just behind.

I will definitely re-visit this hotel!

Decided last minute to go up skiing in Mammoth, we even had to take the dog as we couldn't find a place to leave her. We were going weekdays so knew it wouldn't be too difficult to find accommodations. We actually called from our drive to find a place to stay and Shilo Inn had the nicest staff to talk to and were very dog friendly. Price was right, comes with a decent continental breakfast and there's underground parking which is huge if it snows. The staff even let us leave the dog in the room our last day as we were going to ski and then drive home right after. They didn't even charge is for that 1/2 day. indoor pool and jacuzzi was great in the evening for the kids. It wasn't the Westin, but we skiid all day and then ate out, so all we needed was a clean room and it was very spacious as well.
