“Cozy, Refurbished, Comfortable, Amazing Staff and PERFECT location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

I stayed at the Sierra Nevada Lodge March 26-29 on a spontaneous Mammoth Ski trip. I could not have been happier. My lady friend and I had such an amazing time. The room was fantastic! The newly refurbished rooms are filled with amenities that rival some of the luxury hotels I've stayed at, while still remaining like a cozy lodge. Dual shower head massive shower? Check. Heated bathroom floors? Check. Large bathtub to soak in after hitting the slopes? Check. LCD TV above automatic switch Fireplace? Check. You get the picture. The room also came with a kitchenette that was fully equipped with tons of appliances and utensils. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is an A/C unit that can double as a heater as well, but the fireplace will do the trick even though the room is well insulated even when it was 20* F outside. Parking is free and is right next to the entrances to the lodges so you don't freeze or struggle transferring your gear.

The Staff was incredible. They were so nice and accommodating. Cat was especially welcoming and warm. The staff was more than happy to help you with local attractions and anything regarding the Ski Lifts, restaurants, and anything lodge wise. I can't express how lovely of people they all were and again, Cat was amazing.

As soon as I hear of a Spring snow storm and the Ski resort is filled with powder, there is no where else I would rather stay than at the Sierra Nevada Lodge. It's clean, friendly, inviting, and located in a perfect location. You are literally within 5-10 minutes from the Ski Resorts/Restaurants/Shops. It was such a great stay that I actually booked an additional night because we didn't want to leave so soon.

Thank you for the great time and we look forward to staying with you again!

The hotel is really nice and homely. Friendly staff, a convenient location, the rooms were clean and comfortable.

There's a free hotel shuttle bus to the mountain each day, and also a free village bus which stops right outside and loops around the town until 2am.

Rooms has everything you'd need, although another chair would've been good. The general tone is rustic and quirky (the wardrobe is in the bathroom).

There was a mix up with breakfast which meant that we didn't get it despite it being paid for in our rate. When we went across the road to Rafters where breakfast is served, they said that they not longer did it. Two receptionists said they'd try to do something about it - but never got back to us.

Also the room next door had an alarm which went off at 1am every night and you could clearly hear through the walls. We mentioned this to reception and they said they'd get it seen to. Even so it continued to go off every night.

It's a shame, because this is a pleasant and friendly hotel. They allowed us to check out late too.

2nd visit to Sierra Nevada Lodge after a short 4-night stop last year. I have to say it was great to be back - the place almost feels like a second home to us now!

Staff are all really friendly, facilities are great and we even had the pleasure of meeting Maverick - the hotel dog/mascot this time - he's great! Couple this with an ideal location for both town and the buses to the slopes (not to mention the hotels in-house shuttle to the mountain) and you've got the whole package here.

Highly recommended - thanks for another great stay, hope to be back again over the next few years!!

Stayed here on a ski club trip where we skied Mammoth Mountain.

The hotel is clean, and the decor is nice. Free wifi is available throughout the entire hotel. The lobby is spacious and is a nice place to relax. Outside there is a small pool right next to a fairly large hot tub. Since it was winter, the pool was closed, and the hot tub was open. My only complaint is that my room didn't have a dresser. I had to live out my suitcase for a week.

While there is no food served in the hotel, there are several restaurants in walking distance. It's a 15 minute ride to Mammoth Mountain by bus. The buses are free and run until 2 am.

- Easy access to the mountain via free shuttle
- Walking distance to restaurants and bars
- Spacious rooms
- Good bathroom/ great water pressure from the shower
- Nice lobby with fireplace

Prior to my stay I read some bad reviews, but the price was pretty good so I decided to stay at Sierra Nevada Lodge anyway. I was a little worried, but quickly realized that my worries were unfounded. This place is great for the price.

On our way there, my buddy asked if we could stay in one of the newly renovated rooms and they said yes. In trying to understand the bad reviews i read, the only thing I can think of is that maybe some of the rooms are bad and we happened to get a good one. That, or some people are just really picky.

All in all, I had an excellent experience at Sierra Nevada lodge and I definitely recommend it. (We stayed 3 nights at $124/night)

When reading the reviews of this hotel I was very nervous prior to my arrival. In short order my fears were removed.

Great Location, walking distance from a couple of restaurants and a rite aid AND convenient, free shuttle access to the mountain.

Pleasent staff who were helpful

Clean, spacious room with an excellent bathroom (good water pressure and temperature).

Lastly, beautiful lobby and working hot tub.
