“Mammoth Lakes Quality Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is in a great location. The parking garage underneath is a nice feature, although you still have to empty your car of anything with a smell due to the possibility of bears visiting. The hotel is worn and in need of renovation. The carpet is beyond cleaning. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Would probably stay there again.

“Dirty to the power of 50”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

The condition of this hotel does not match its room price (100 USD incl. taxes). And certainly not the 20.000 to 25.000 points it is taxed in the Choice Privileges reward program! It is not because Mammoth Lakes is a trendy place, one can permit to ask any price for such a dumb and dirty place.

Both the rooms and corridors are extremely dirty. Sticky and dirty flooring. Brown stains on walls. Bad smell of humidity everywhere. Just after checkout we saw rotten apples and oranges on the floor around the vending & ice machines on the 2nd floor. These fruits were very visible to us and certainly there since many days (juice already sticking on floor). Accurate cleaning personnel should never have missed this.

We went sick after some days re-thinking we did spend a night at this dumb & expensive place.
This unhealthy hotel should be remodeled and/or abandoned from the Quality/Choice brand!
We really felt being pickpocketed by this hotel owner.

“Next stop Yosemite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Chose this location because it was close to Yosemite. It was an ideal choice because it allowed us a rest and gave us time to look around the Mammoth Lake on foot, and it is well worth the effort.

Front of house staff were very able and quickly got us checked in. They told us the room did not have any conditioning which was fine because temperatures had dropped. The room itself was functional and clean and we had a great night asleep.

Breakfast next morning was one of the best we had had in a choice hotel, with staff constantly cleaning and stocking the breakfast area. There was a great to choose from.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor and ideal

“Great Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

I stayed here three nights with my sister and had a great time. The rooms were clean and the hotel is convenient to shopping and sightseeing. We enjoyed the breakfast everyday and the lady the fixed the breakfast was so pleasant to talk to. Great variety of food, hot and cold. The only drawback was the home adjacent seemed to be a party house. Ask for a room on the front side of the hotel. We had people in the room next to us who stayed up all night, but the overall experience was very pleasant. I would stay here again with no hesitation.

Room Tip: Don't bother going to the Econo Lodge down the road. The office smelled soooo bad and the lobby...

“Disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This location was a disappointment.

We had recently stayed at a couple of Comfort Suites and paid less a night for the same type room. This hotel was $116 for our rate per night compared to $89 at the others.

This hotel is well worn out. The staff was not friendly upon check in, in fact looked tired and just went through the motions.

There is parking below the hotel with easy in and out and access to the elevator.

The hallway rugs are dirty and stained. The room is dated. TV's are the old full size units, not flat screens. Because of the mountain location there is no air conditioning in the room, but they did provided a floor fan. Wall thermostat for heat which we did not use.

The bath room was also worn out. The toilet flapper leaked water 24 hrs and the tank was constantly refilling. Noisy and we closed the bathroom door at night to block the noise. There was no stopper inthe bath tub. A section of the tub was worn through to the bare wall. This is room 225.

Since the entry rugs were so very dirty, we had to assume that the room floors and and beding in our room were no better and we were cautious to wear footwear and pull down the bedspread away from us.

The breakfast area is small and was completly occupied when we arrive. They did have eggs and meats, cereal, fruit, yogart, jucies and rolls, but we had to carry the items back to our room to have a place to sit down. Breakfast was average for this type of hotel ammenity, but the seating area is limited.

I would not go back to this location. We noticed many other hotels in the town and being off season I am sure there would have been availability.

We traveled with my father who had a seperate room. He said the his sink stopper would not hold water and that is leaked as he was trying to shave.

Check out he web and look for another location and read the reviews. Good luck.

Room Tip: Don't stay here unless they clean up the place. Rooms 225 and 235 both had problems.
