“Rainbows and Posts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

This is a must... it's a little off the beaten track but not that far. The hike between the Postpile and the waterfall is interesting as you look out at the terrain scarred by fire. The waterfall is beautiful, especially going down to the lower level and looking up at the falls. Just make sure you carry drinking water with you.

The weather was perfect and the views were incredible, it was a nice day to hike. The walk to Rainbow falls was easy for the whole family.

“A must see !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

On my first visit to Mammoth Lakes (May this year), the monument was still closed.
Therefore I didn't miss the opportunity to visit Devil's Postpile on my second visit to Mammoth Lakes.
I didn' regret my decision. Rainbow Falls and the nice hike to Devil's Postpile is very scenic and also pretty remote (we had to go there by shuttle bus, but we were almost alone).
A must see, when you're in the area!!
