“Very nice!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

We spent the weekend in Mammoth and decided to try this place out. The first night we had a studio which was nice, but we had an issue with the shower head in the shower and the next night they upgraded us to a one bedroom. I would recommend the one bedroom. There is a TV in the bedroom and the living room area. In the studio you could not see the TV from the bed. Both have a kitchen area which is nice. The one bedroom just gives you a little bit more space than the studio. You can run to the Vons up the street and grab groceries so you are not eating out every meal. The rooms are clean. The TV also has a dvd player which is nice if you want to watch movies. I would say the only down side is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. We were there in the early part of May and it probably only got to 70 degrees during the day, but since there is no air the room was stuffy at night even with the windows open. There is a fan that does help a little.
I will definitely be back. The hotel is nice and well taken care of.

Dear BeckiandJames

Thank you for reviewing Juniper Springs Resort. I am glad that our staff was able to upgrade you to the one bedroom condo and that you were able to enjoy all of our amenities. We are currently working on a ceiling fan project that will help cool the units during our warmer summer months. Thank you, Phil K.

Wonderful location with easy access to Mammoth Mountain. Newer property with studio, 1 or 2 bedroom units complete with full kitchen (stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, cutlery, glasses, plates, pots & pans, serving dishes) just bring your groceries. Pools & 6 hot tubs in three buildings (JSR has 1 pool/3 hot tubs) outdoor area with seating for large parties & BBQ. Underground parking and shuttle to town. Already planning our return trip! Beautiful!

What a fantastic room. We had views of the mountains and a good sized balcony. After spending a week travelling around California it was lovely to have a sitting room as well as a bedroom - at last we could finally spread out. We were a little worried when we first arrived due to the large number of young people staying to take advantage of the skiing / snowboarding but the hotel is so well designed once you were in the room you couldn't hear a thing from other rooms. Ideally located for walking and sight seeing - Bodie was amazing. We really appreciated the free shuttle bus to drop you off and pick you up later when visiting bars / restaurants in the town.

We made a reservation around noon in Moab and drove some extra hundreds of miles to get there. Arrived late like 10:30pm , staff was very nice and professional, even helped us out getting a wine opener by calling the staff from the closed bar to find one for us, thanks again Karin. Great place, hope to return one day for some more skiing .

Great spacious homely rooms. Kitchen, living room and fire to make your stay cosy! Right next to main chair lift, 1 mile from downtown. Fantastic heated outdoor pool and hot tubs. Little coffee shop in the lobby

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We stayed for 11 nights in early January 2013. The first two nights we were in a room overlooking the chair lift - not quite the view the website led us to believe we'd get. The gas heater didn't work, the room was miles away from the lift (not great when walking in ski boots), the bathroom exhaust fan was extremely noisy, we constantly heard the buzzer from people going through the ski gates, there seemed to be elephants in the room above us, and the room was generally grimy and unloved. A terrible room! Luckily, at our request, the manager arranged for us to move to another room on the other side of the building. The difference was amazing! It was quiet, had a large balcony with lovely views and had been well maintained. The housekeeping was disappointing, as it seemed to get sloppier each day and the bathroom was never thoroughly cleaned once in 9 days. It didn't seem as though the bed sheets had been changed either. The reception staff were quite unfriendly and had a poor attitude and it seemed as though every question or request was an inconvenience or a stupid question. The outdoor hot-tub area is excellent, one of the best things about the hotel. The locker room is very convenient for Eagle lodge. If you're staying more than a few days and want to explore more of Mammoth, I don't recommend staying at Juniper Springs the whole time, unless you've got a car. It's quite far from the shops, and there is no on-site restaurant for dinner. The free bus service is great, but doesn't go to Eagle lodge that often at night, and you end up standing outside freezing whilst waiting for a bus on many occasions. It's fine if you don't need to shop for food every night and don't want to dine out. There are more buses during the day, which is good for going to the Village or other lodges, but after 3 days skiing from Eagle lodge we were over it, and ended up wasting a lot of time getting to the other lodges by bus. It isn't really that easy to ski or board between Eagle lodge and the other lodges, so we relied on the buses. In the end we hired a car for the last three days of our trip and it made such a difference! We loved Mammoth Lakes, but next time we'd choose to stay in the Village.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room on the Mountain side, not near the chair lift, and not too far away from th...

At the base of the Eagle Express chairlift these apartments offer very easy access to the mountain. A variety of apartment sizes offer comfortable accommodation. We stayed in a one bedroom with TV, bathroom, and kitchen / dining / sitting area with TV, log affect gas fire and balcony. The apartments are privately owned, so all decorated differently. Kitchens are fully equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and all the necessary crockery, cutlery and kitchen ware. Our balcony, as with most, had a beautiful view of the mountains. The apartments are serviced daily. Ski boots are kept in your room, however, there are lockers provided on the ground floor for storing your skis. There are no restaurants on site, but there is a coffee shop. There is also a ski hire shop, an outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tubs. We had a problem with our TV and someone attended to resolve the situation immediately. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This is the second time we have stayed at this resort and we will definitely go back!
