“Excellent ski in ski out location, comfortable accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

At the base of the Eagle Express chairlift these apartments offer very easy access to the mountain. A variety of apartment sizes offer comfortable accommodation. We stayed in a one bedroom with TV, bathroom, and kitchen / dining / sitting area with TV, log affect gas fire and balcony. The apartments are privately owned, so all decorated differently. Kitchens are fully equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and all the necessary crockery, cutlery and kitchen ware. Our balcony, as with most, had a beautiful view of the mountains. The apartments are serviced daily. Ski boots are kept in your room, however, there are lockers provided on the ground floor for storing your skis. There are no restaurants on site, but there is a coffee shop. There is also a ski hire shop, an outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tubs. We had a problem with our TV and someone attended to resolve the situation immediately. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This is the second time we have stayed at this resort and we will definitely go back!

I love being able to walk to Eagle Lodge and the lifts, but they still need to work on some things. First and foremost, how hard is it to offer wifi that keeps an internet connection for longer than 5 minutes at a time? If your kids are planning on streaming any Netflix or you are planning to get any email done, forget staying here. And if you are renting (vs an owner), sorry, you can't use any of the (multiple) luggage carts that are in plain view, chained up in the parking lot. And late checkout, oh sorry, have to charge you for that. I will go to one of the many options elsewhere next time in Mammoth...

Room Tip: Maybe some of the rooms have dedicated wifi?

Dear Jordan P
Thank you for your review of Juniper Springs on Trip Advisor. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed our location and that are staff was there to assist you. The internet is a greater issue affecting the entire town of Mammoth Lakes. A viable solution is on the way and hope to have a solution to this problem within a few months. In the meanwhile we offer complimentary movies and a game room for our younger guests to enjoy. I have made note of your feedback and hope your next visit will bring you back to Juniper Springs.

Truly,

Peter A.

Could I take this opportunity to recommend the Juniper Springs resort to any skiers here in Great Britain thinking about going to this resort. The flight and the drive are both very long but you will not be disappointed. When tired we were greeted with help and courtesy in the middle of the night.
The apartment was spacious and contained all the amenities we could have wished for.
The apartment was cleaned everyday and fresh towels put in the bathrooms daily.Free WiFi available in all areas of the hotel. The spa facilities were second to none and were a welcome relief after a hard days skiing!! The free shuttle bus that takes you into and from anywhere you want to go in Mammoth is an unbelievable service. Reception staff were more than welcome to recommend places to eat in the town and we were reward by their choices. I would recommend this resort to anyone thinking of going here.

Dear Stuart H,
Thank you for your review of Juniper Springs on Trip Advisor. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and took advantage of all the amenities we have to offer. Mammoth/Yosemite airport is also a great alternative that brings just minutes away from our hotel and slopes on our complimentary shuttle.

Cheers,

When we arrived at the Mammoth Lakes airport, our luggage did not make it. So we were not in the best of moods when we got to the hotel. The staff was very nice, explaining about the shuttle that could take us to get clothes, sundries, food, etc. They charged my phone for me, as my charger was in my suitcase. The next evening, Peter Andreadakis even drove us back to the airport when the airlines neglected to send our luggage with the shuttle. During our trip, we asked the staff to recommend places to go out and places to eat. Every question was returned with a smile and an eagerness to help. Also, the shuttle service they have is awesome!!!

We have stayed in the pricey slope-side condos at Juniper before and have usually had a great experience. This time, although the location was great, right on the slope next to Eagle chair, there were several problems with the condo. Worst of all, there was no housekeeping although it was supposed to be included, the housekeepers never made it to us for three days!! Every day we called the desk and pretty soon apologetic housekeepers arrived with towels, but they did not have time to clean (we did make them take the trash). I think the place is just under staffed. In addition, the dishwasher leaked, bathtub not drain, outside door not lock with key, and there were only 2 wine glasses.

We enjoyed our stay in Mammoth. First time here, first time skiing! Juniper Springs is a great hitel/condo and it has very easy access to the slopes. There is and on site coffee bar, hot tub, laundry. We liked the lockers available for,ski and sports equipment so that we didn't have to haul all that stuff up to the room each time. Nice, updated hotel/condo. Great place to stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 221 and it was beautifully updated. We found it very clean and comfortable with a...

Ever so disappointed with our weekend stay. We booked a one bedroom condo for the end of the San Diego ski-week, mostly because we wanted to try the convenience of the ski-in/ski-out from Juniper Springs to the Eagle chair lift and lodge. The location is the only thing Juniper Springs had for it and we won't be planning a return visit.
The unit was clean enough, however, the furnishings were huge relative to the space, and the dining room with 6 bear themed chairs made it impossible to get from the kitchen to the living area without running into a wooden object. Never mind the addition of piles of snow gear to further clutter the space.
The thermostat only worked in one direction - to heat things up. In order to reduce the temperature, we were told by the front desk to just open a window. This only seemed to make the fireplace and heater work harder, totally defeating the purpose - we were told that we couldn't turn the heat down or completely off. It's one thing to be cozy - another to be baking in the condo while there is snow just outside the window.
The walls were made of waxed paper. We could hear, word-for-word, the conversations occurring in the rooms on either side of us. I'd have preferred to have avoided listening to the teenage drama happening with the family on one side of us or the boisterous game being played by the kids on the other side. During the evening we turned up the radio to try to have our own space. At night, we had to resort to ear plugs to get any sleep as our bedroom wall seemed to magnify the snoring traveler sleeping in the room adjacent to ours.
Most frustrating (for a ski resort), the only option for a "late check out" is to pay 1/2-2/3 the rate of the room to check out 3 hours later than the 11 am posted time. This makes no sense in a vacation destination where skiers and boarders may want to get some morning time on the mountain before leaving later in the day.
Overall, poor service, abysmal lodging with the thin walls and too-big furniture crowding the room, and very poor value for the amount paid. We'll stay elsewhere next time.

Dear SDHapahaole,
Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. Please accept my apologies for the challenges you experienced during your stay with us. Noise between rooms is something we seldom hear. Our staff can respond to any excess noise 24hrs a day. Having your window open as a result of the excess heat in the room, I am sure did not help either. The fireplaces are the main source of heat in the living room. While a lot of our guests turn them on for the ambiance, they tend to heat up the room very quickly.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Truly,

Peter A.
