“Very good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012 via mobile

We spent 2 nights here and enjoyed our time very much. There were 2 couples so we had 2 rooms on the first floor of the outside section (not in the rooms above reception). Both rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The bed was huge with clean bedding. The rooms were a bit stuffy and warm at first, but we left the doors open for a while and put the fan on, so that cooled them down nicely. I can imagine this place being cozy and warm during winter! The decor of the rooms fits in perfectly with the whole European ski lodge theme. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking. We saw a bear cub walking through the parking lot! The hotel is very conveniently located across the road from plenty of restaurants and is near to the Main Lodge. All in all, I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

“Value for Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Family run Lodge. King rooms good size. Shops within walking distance. Only thing I would say is we discovered that one in five people may suffer from Altitude Sickness because of the Altitude at Mamoth Lakes .Lighting in seating area very poor, to use a laptop one had to sit on the bed

Room Tip: King Rooms are a nice size, with separate seating area

“Fabulous Memorial Day Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

The Alpenhof Lodge is a great, family friendly place to stay in Mammoth! The rooms were spacious, updated with modern furniture and very comfortable and quiet. The restaurant and bar on site are very convenient and provided some nice entertainment. This family owned and operated lodge is one of a kind and you are welcomed from the moment you enter the door. The pride of ownership is obvious as they were working on updating the pool in anticipation of the summer crowds! The location is fabulous, within close walking distance to the village. Overall, a great place to stay with children or for a couple get-away.

“Memories of dorm life”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012

This lodge is anything but a lodge. The room was small, and the cottage-cheese celings were both stained with water and scraped in various places. Drapes had stains and a hole. Two poles by the bedside masqueraded as lamps, and one crooked picture of a rabbit hung in the corner. We could hear our neighbors above us. Based upon the footsteps on the ceiling, I think they were sick, as they continuously headed for the bathroom from 12:00 a.m to 3:00 a.m. Each flush was heard throughout the night. The sounds and sights of the room were reminescent of my dorm room in college. Cheap pine furniture decorated the room, and a small TV was snuggled tightly into the armoir. The channel changer remained in-tact thanks to Scotch tape. Billed as a place that served breakfast, you can count on watered-down juice, metallic coffee, store-bought donuts, and packaged non-flavored oatmeal. BUT, on the upside, the room was passibly clean, the water pressure good, and the location excellent. Still, for the whopping price of $250 per night, I would look elsewhere. The adjacent restaurant, Petra's, now that's another story; quite good. But I digress......

Room Tip: Ask the condition of the room ahead of time. Some rooms evidently have fireplaces. I"m assumi...
