“Worst hotel ever!”

Travelodge Mammoth Lakes

I booked this hotel last minute by mistake, I was looking for another hotel with a blue sign!
The entire hotel smelled, not only our room. The hallways were dingy with dirt and scuffs on the walls. The room was gross! The box spring had about a 3 foot rip in it and the guts were exposed. The sheets had tears and I had to check to see if they were clean, they were. All the lamp shades were visibly dirty. There were chunks of something unknown on the bathroom walls with hairs sticking out of it. There was dried snot on the shower walls and the shower head moved freely in the wall. The carpet was dark so it probably hid a lot. We didn't want to touch anything, which makes for an uncomfortable stay. The breakfast was a joke, get there early as it is in short supply. At $115 a night I would expect a clean room.
The hotel staff ( I believe the owners) were nice. Believe it or not I am not that picky, this place is just that bad!!! I have sent corporate a letter as well.

“OMG... What a Horrible, Horrible Place to Stay”

I stayed there because there were no other places for a last minute overnight in the area, unless I was willing to pay for a 2 night minimum in a local condo. Next time I will pay for the extra night and stay someplace else.

- The room smelled like old baby wipes.
- The door to the small and dingy patio could have been jimmy'd by a 5 year old should he want to break in.
- The window did not lock.
- The shower was either hot or cold (at least I got to choose), and the curtain rod did not want to stay up.
- The carpet on the stairs was tattered.
- There was a "Continental Breakfast" in the lobby (this was in a small, dingy corner across the check-in counter). I refused to even taste the coffee.
- My daughter wanted to us to check out the hot tub. I cringed at the thought of what could be living in the water...
- The window overlooked a yard full rusting of trucks.
- Parking garage was dirty (I mean chunks of dirt) and had beer bottles strewn about.

If you can possible stay someplace else, do so!

“Awful Awful - Stay Away”

Travelodge Mammoth Lakes

(attempted) to stay here for a weekend trip in Mammoth from LA, CA. This motel was terrible. It was priced at $180/night (which is crazy for a travelodge). The room they provided us (last one available) had an outdoor entrance which had been left open all day and night, and was approx 40 degrees by the time we arrived that night (the water in the toilet was frozen solid). They had no extra blankets for us to use in the freezing room. They also screwed up the reservation, making it for only one night, rather than the 2 we had clearly requested. They refused to provide us a room for the second night, and threatened to call the police when I demanded a room pursuant to our reservation. We were forced to find other accommodations in Mammoth on Saturday, and paid through the nose for a condo.

I have been traveling to Mammoth for years now. We have stayed at almost every hotel/motel and many of the condo properties. This was far and away the worst. If it is a choice between foregoing a trip to mammoth, or staying here, don't stay here. Plan for a different weekend. Stay in your car. Whatever, just don't stay here.

“stay away”

Travelodge Mammoth Lakes

We had to travel with our dog and this was the only place we could find in Mammoth on short notice. The Travelodge website says that it is AAA approved but I don't believe it. Maybe about 10 years ago. The whole bad experience started when we tried to find a place to park. All of the spots out front were taken so we pulled around back. The parking lot was 90% covered with a pool of water 2 inches thick. So then we came around front to enter the underground garage which also had a 2 inch thick pool of water and ice. As I got out of the car I slipped on the ice and fell. There is ice everywhere and management makes no attempt at removing it or putting down sand or salt. Our room was trashed - broken window and screen, t.v. that only got cable if you jiggled the cord, broken deadbolt, broken countertop, sloppily patched holes in the wall - it was disgusting. Their rec room is full of piled up chairs and rolls of carpeting. The spa/sauna is scary - I'd be afraid I'd catch a disease in there. All of this for $170/night.

“Stay away”

Travelodge Mammoth Lakes

There is no way that this place earns a 3 diamond rating with AAA. The place was terrible. I thought under new ownership (changed hand in July of 2005) that it would have been than the below posted reviews.

New carpet is great too bad that the water leaking in from the heater/air conditioner is going to ruin it. Major problem with the front of the building. Tried to move to two other rooms with the same wall, the same problem existed.

Foul odor in the lobby area. Smelt like Indian food. It was constant day and night.

Definately find another place to stay!!!!!!!!!!!
