“Jacuzzi with a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012 via mobile

We spent a night here on a road trip. It was summer so very quiet and sunny. The hotel has a great jacuzzi with views of the mountains. A nice breakfast was included and offered a self-service in a cozy living area.

The room was big and clean, with a good size bathroom. The hotel offers plenty of parking spaces incl room to store skis/snowboard equipment.

We didn't see much of the village but it looked really nice. Also, great pizza restaurant across the road!

We took a recent family trip to Mammoth Lakes and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is basic and could use some updating, but we were fine with the accomodations and it suited our needs. They don't have a restaurant, but you just walk to the one next door where they have an agreement and it worked out well. As a hotel in Mammoth, for basic needs, we recommend.

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday/Monday, and liked it so much that we booked it for Friday/Saturday later the same week.
It's located in a good area- right near the free shuttle, and next door to a couple of good restaurants- John's Pizza Works and Angel's. Angel's was closed for renovations, but John's was open.
The hotel has plentiful, safe, parking- even though a bear visited the garage on Monday night :)
We had a King room both times. The room has a very clean, nice bed with quality sheets. The pillows, on the other hand, are HORRIBLE. We even ordered extra, but they are thin and flat- very difficult if you are used to fluffy and full pillows. That's the only downside, however.
The rooms as I mentioned, are very clean. The towels are very nice and thick. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower had one of those extended round-style shower bars to give you even more room. The shower had a nice, powerful, adjustable spray. The toiletries were very nice- ginger-tea.
We had a nice TV (didn't get much use) and free wi-fi. the room also had a nice large dressing area for two large luggage and a lot of counter space. It had a spare sink, microwave, refrigerator and lots of silverware, dishes, paper towels and other things so if you wanted to cook some lunch or keep a few bottles of wine, or food fresh, you could do so! There was also a small table with two chairs for dining, and a nice large love seat for two for snuggling with your honey!
They also had a nice, large BBQ (propane) at our disposal if we wished, in the jacuzzi area. The rooms are very simple and neat but we don't like a lot of fancy, so this was great for us.
We had a nice large deck with a slider in both King rooms. Traffic dies down around 8PM, so you won't hear much street noise.
Both rooms were equipped with an oscillating fan. You really don't need air conditioning in Mammoth...so the fan was great to keep the air moving at night, even though the days were 79 degrees (F) .
There is a nice jacuzzi that we used a couple of nights. No pool- but again, we were out and about in Mammoth during the day and didn't need the pool.
They serve a free continental breakfast each day from 7:30AM-9:30AM. It was good and plentiful- fruit, bagels, sweet rolls, coffee, tea and juice.
We paid $85 a night for Sunday and Monday...and $ 103 for Friday and Saturday. This was Independence Day week and free fishing week!
Both rooms were quiet in spite of the fact that there were a lot of 'young' (screaming little kids) families in the hotel. The only drawback is that there is NO elevator...so you will have to hike up the stairs and lug all your crap with you.
Yes, the bathrooms were pink laminate counter tops and light yellow wall paint. Yes, the light fixtures were dated, but so what? I'm not buying the place, I'm staying here for an inexpensive vacation so I can spend my money on what really matters....hiking, fishing, biking, boating, horseback riding, and going to lovely restaurants!
The desk folks were nice, welcoming and efficient.
We will be back soon! Good place for the cost!

Just stayed here for 2 nights and was not expecting much as the reviews were not great. What we found was a large, King room with a terrace (room 213). The bathroom was average but there is a desk area right next to it that gives you a lot of room to put all your toiletries. Open clothes closet with ironing board and iron. Kitchenette area has sink, small fridge and microwave. No coffee pot which would have been great. The terrace faced the side street which was fine but there were no chairs to sit on which would be nice. Free parking downstairs. The breakfast was coffee, tea, orange juice, bagels, English muffins and danish which was fine. Price was good, room clean. Area was beautiful, good location right on Main Street within walking distance of restaurants. Price was right for what you get. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get room facing side street or back as they are quieter. Rooms facing hot tub can be noisy up till...

We were at the Sierra Lodge for only one night as part of a tour. Our experience with this hotel was not the best. The bathroom is small and the shower is tiny. The rooms are dated and in need of a refurbishment. The bed was comfortable and the location was good.

My husband and I are young professionals (mid 20s and mid 30's) and we stayed here on June 1st and 2nd, just after Mammoth mountain had closed it's ski season for the summer. We stayed in room 112, right close to the reception desk, stairs that lead to garage, and the outdoor hot tub area. We didn't have much of a view from our room (we did have a large balcony though) but it was very conveniently located. The room was very clean and had all necessities such as: a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, mini fridge (with freezer), microwave, and TV. The bathroom contained pretty good quality all natural soaps, shampoo, and a shower cap. Towels were pretty good too.. not the thin, cheap, motel type of towels. The outdoor hot tub was really nice and clean and was open until 10pm. There was not a lot of choice in the breakfast (included) but the foods that they did provide were good quality. There were regular and raisin bagels (very very tasty, soft and fresh) with condiments, and English muffins (a good brand of them), also there were pastries but we did not try those. There were apples, fresh coffee, a variety of teas, and orange juice as well. No cold water though which kind of sucked. One bonus in the room is a magazine with all of the restaurants in the Mammoth area along with descriptions, hours, menus, prices etc. Very very helpful! There was also free wifi internet. Hotel is very centrally located, minutes from Mammoth mountain and the village by car, and walking distance away from dozens of restaurants and bars. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely return! The only downside was the cost - we paid $85 for the first night (a Thursday) and $95 for the second night. The hotel was nearly empty, as was the town. For an off season we thought the price was about $10-$15 too high but that's no big deal.

Room Tip: We were in room 112, right next to door that leads to the outdoor hot tub, and stairs leading to rec...

We were at Sierra Lodge for only one night before visiting the Yosemite National Park. Overall it was ok. But in comparison with other hotels the breakfast was not so good, they offered only toasties and bagels.
