“Mammoth Mountain Inn Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Family stayed at the MMI over Christmas and had a really great stay. Room was exceptionally nice and had a great view of the mountain. Excellent service from Josh, Josh, Tyler, Jason, Justin, Corey, Michael, Darla, Luis, Danita and many more. Housekeeping took care of our room and made sure that it was well stocked with towels for the whole family, as we use a lot! Love the new set up in the lobby. Very warm and cozy! Noel the Elf was also very cute!!! Could not have been treated better by the staff and the weather fairy! Cannot wait to come back in January and February of 2014!

Room Tip: Pick a room on the second floor, with a loft, in the main lodge, on the view side, and on the south...

Snow condition was perfect, but the most impressive attraction was the attitude of the entire staff. Every front desk, bell staff, lift crew person, ticket monitors, and even the food staff were especially friendly with a smile and a welcoming comment. Everyone smiling?? What a treat! You can't control the weather or the snow conditions, but they did a GREAT job at making us welcome and full of fun everyday. The van ride into town and back, the special care that Tyler, Josh, and Corey took of our skis, and Mel and her lesson gave us lots to practice. Great vacation thanks to the efforts of the staff and the warm lodge fireplace and Jacuzzi. We have another 50 days of ski trips this year, but will be back for spring skiing.

We booked a town home for 3 nights (2 bedrooms plus loft + kitchen - room 655). Location is fantastic, amenities great but housekeeping is unsatisfactory! We paid top money for this vacation and we expect our money's worth by at least having towels and toiletries replaced everyday. Wrong! We had to call front desk twice to get new towels on our 2nd night. By the third night they still have not cleaned the rooms (even if the door label says "restore" instead of "dreaming" that I called (for the 3rd time) to speak to a manager. He was busy but the operator sent someone to see me at our room. That someone told me: "you should go to the front desk to request to be transferred to a cleaner room".

Are you kidding me?

I rang front desk again and demanded to speak to the manager. Kade was apologetic and made sure to send housekeeping.

This is disgusting service for the money they charge for these rooms. No guest should have to worry about fresh towels and toiletries on their vacation.

Thank you Josh the ski valet. You were very cheerful and helpful in every way. You are an asset to the Inn.

My eighteen year old son and I were fortunate enough to be able to make the time to get away and spend Thanksgiving at Mammoth.

Our experience from the moment we checked in to the moment we we checked out and everything between was extraordinary.

The genuine nice friendly smiles and attitude of the entire staff was so refreshing.

Darla Ross the Front Desk Manager is a diamond in the rough for Mammoth Mountain Inn.

We can't wait to come back in Spring!

This place is absolutely awesome! You get what you pay for. Literally steps from Main Lodge. Breafkast was delicious, they even had a Bloody Mary bar. The place is clean, great view, comfy beds, and great service. They have 4 separate hot tubs (3 are indoors) and a pool that is warm bathwater temp! We would definitely come back soon!

My wife and I had a wonderful vacation at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. Mr. Cade is a customer service rock star and made sure that what ever we needed was taken care of. The slopeside location combines the best skiing terrain with the comfort of a 5 star hotel and staff. Having being fortunate enough to experience resorts from Whistler to Utah I can confidently say that there is nothing that compares with the consistent heavenly conditions that can stretch nearly ten months annually. It always feels like a honeymoon when staying with my wife at Mammoth Mountain Inn!

MMI exemplifies what hospitality is all about! Front desk staff Cheyanne and Harriet, thank you for all you do and for doing it with a smile. You are a credit to your boss Darla. As another reviewer said, the staff is amazing. The bell desk, front desk, ski valet, housekeeping team and wait staff at the restaurant/bar are all friendly, courteous and helpful.
New carpeting and a conscientious housekeeping team keep this hotel running and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Any savvy traveler knows that rooms at a ski resort take a beating from guests, but MMI is well maintained. I actually saw a housekeeper wiping boot scuff marks off of the guest room doors. If there is any sort of an issue it is attended to right away. Our comfort as a guest seemed to be a priority here. Beds are very comfortable and the bath amenities are from Aveda. A nice touch is also the vintage Mammoth photos in lieu of cheesy hotel artwork. The decor of the rooms and public areas have cozy lodge/chalet feel. Singles, couples, families, seniors a good mix of guests, and the hotel is pet friendly.
MMI offers the best access to all that Mammoth has to offer whether you choose to go into town or just stay put. You can walk out the door and get your "winter fun" on. One last little tip, the bar upstairs has a fantastic view of the mountain.
