What a pleasure ski-ing in Mammoth Moutain is! The mountain is great for all abilities with a decent amount of off-piste too. The lift operators were all very pleasant and really helpful for those not too sure about using the chairlifts. There were queues for the lifts but we never waited more than 5 minutes for any lift. The runs were surprisingly quiet for a Sunday, apart from the bottom bits where a number of runs meet back at the lifts which could get a little crowded.
Fair amount if places to eat on the mountain (usual ski resort prices though!) l recommed Eagle Lodge which has a great outdoor sitting area and had a live band playing the week-end we were there.
We're used to ski-ing in Europe and this was our first North American experience and one we'll repeat again gladly. Although the ski area is not as large as most of the European ones there's more than enough to keep all abillities occupied for a few days.
The town itself has lots of restaurants/bars/club options for the apres-ski crowd. I'd really recommend a trip to Mammoth Mountain, you'll have fun!
