“Dinner Reservations a must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012 via mobile

A very small sinning room with just around ten tables affords the lucky few that arrive with dinner reservations in hand a personal fine dining experience rarely found in remote locations so far away from the glamor of a bustling city.

With amazingly fresh fish options supplementing a wide array of meats there will be something for almost everyone. The tougher game meats are properly cooked just enough without making them too tough or gamey.

“"Rustic-Charming History"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

A friend & I attended the 35th Symphony and decided to end a perfect event with one of Mammoth's favorite restaurants. This restaurant needs a bit of an uplift in the entrance, however, the charm of its history and the intimacy of the fine dining shadows what is not.

“It's still good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

The longtime chef is gone, but his former assistant is now in charge. The menu is still the same, but she tends to have a lighter hand with specials. Although the halibut special was pronounced boring, everything else was terrific. It's tough to cook at 8,000 ft plus, but it always works at The Lakefront.

The atmosphere remains charming, and the staff is terrific. It is romantic and small, not really good for a party over 6, perfect for a special occasion for 2.

“Step Back in Time for a Special Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

This is lake front dining from a bygone era. The Lakefront is a small rustic venue where dining is an art and the service is gracious. Our meals couldn't have been more perfectly prepared including a magnificent dessert of Lavender Creme Brulee. The pace of service allows for conversation and enjoyment of the meal...not too slow, not rushed. It's a great location for couples and adult families to gather for a special meal in a cozy, quiet, mountain retreat. Our evening was the highlight of our dining experiences in Mammoth Lakes.
