Description: It is the desire of 1741 on the Terrace to engage you and invite you. Try something new or revisit something familiar but above all -- enjoy. Relax in the ambiance of the room – the beautiful Moravian tile floor and soaring Palladian windows. Admire the charming downtown of Bethlehem with buildings and history dating back to the day in 1741 when the town itself was founded. The wine list - developed to inspire not to impress – is filled with wines from around the world, but with a focus on American wines. Frequent diners at finer restaurants will be impressed with the selection of wines available, but the list has been crafted to make the choices easy for a novice as well. Our sommelier is available to aid wine selection or custom pairings for any menu items upon request.

“Beautiful, high ceiling room with lots of space between tables”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2011

If you like an elegant dining experience, 1741 is worth a visit. If you want a noisy trendy place, avoid it. The service and food were very good. Wine list is on the high end, but with good selections..

“Nice, romantic space. Food a bit off.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2011

Went there for my birthday on 2-11-11. Stayed over in the hotel with romance package. Dinner in the restaurant was part of the deal. Restaurant is beautiful and the staff very helpful and professional. Ordered surf and turf for a 15 dollars suppliment. Ordered steak mr and it was mw. Mashed potatoes were on the cold side as was the asparagus.Could have been a fluke but for the price of 350 dollars for the package I'd expect more. id give it a 2nd chance.

“Wonderful Fine Dining in the LV”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2011

Impressive, tasty and unique! We went here for our anniversary and it was really delicious. I felt like a princess!!! Everything was top-notch and worth the expense. They have a prix-fixe (sp?) menu available too I think. The huge windows overlooking Main St. add to the atmosphere. Apps are I guess around $8-15 and entrees are $20-35.

“Gorgeous, charming restaurant in lovely downtown has attentive staff, incredible food,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2009

My wife and I dropped in at 1741 on our way back from a CT wedding and were thorougly impressed with the quality of the food, the friendliness and helpfulness of Christa and the staff. We had read about it online and the food, the service, it all exceeded our expectations. Christa covered every detail when explaining items and let us eat _ or pause _ at our own pace as we looked over the beautiful stone facades of downtown Bethelem and admired the fall scenery through the floor to ceiling windows of the historic Hotel Bethlehem. The building is gorgeous and the staff accepted us without reservations and despite our casual road trip clothing, never once making us feel like we didn't fit in at such a fine restaurant. They even encouraged us to cross the street, delaying dinner, and see a bookshop that opened in 1745, only four years after the Moravians settled in what is now Bethlehem.

“Beautiful and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2009

Great fine dining using all local and organic ingredients. Nice view of Bethlehem, but somewhat pricey (you get what you pay for though!). Had the lobster bisque (very rich), and the goat cheese beet salad (very cheesy - must share or ask for bread to soak up the richness). The bass was excellent. The cost per person is based on our three dishes.
