“Please consider the Bushkill Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

I went to Bushkill for a sports car event during the summer solstice of 2014. A few hundred of us descended on the resort and they did everything they could to take care of us. The locals tell us that the place has had some tough times as have other tourist attractions in the Poconos and has been in and out of bankruptcy a couple of times. Bushkill Inn tried to finish remodeling enough rooms for our entire group, but didn't quite get them all finished in time. At least the owners did not try to put guests in rooms that were not quite ready. Those of who were lucky enough to get rooms really enjoyed the place and were treated like kings.

The Poconos is a place that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime and the Bushkill Inn is right in the center of things. If you are just passing through and want a place to stay for the night, go on down the road and find a place where you can get into and out of quickly with a do-it-yourself plastic breakfast bar thrown in. The Bushkill Inn has a slower pace. It will be the center of your relaxing vacation in the Poconos. Walk in the woods. Read a book. See the falls. Paddle down the Delaware and ride the bike trail with Edge of the Woods Outfitters. Visit the nice couple who run the Log Cabin Restaurant up the road a bit -- good value for pizza and great tasting fried chicken. I for one hope that the economy turns around enough that quality places like this can stay with us for decades to come.

My wife and I were looking to spend a nice night or two together....the resort was exactly what we were looking for. We went mountain biking, hiking, relaxed at the pool (indoor and outdoor) and had a quality dinner. The hotel pools are inviting and we made the most of them. The suite we stayed in was top notch. A beautiful view of the lake in front of the resort, the heated bathroom floors, a jacuzzi, multiple TV's, comfortable bed, etc.....I cant imagine what else anyone would be looking for. We have stayed at so many hotels all over the world and I have to say, for an hour and a half ride from Freehold, NJ, this was a great choice. The surrounding area has many restaurants if you would choose to leave the grounds, but you really do not have to. We will be returning, 100%....and as another plus, the young man at the front desk by the name of Nick was very helpful and friendly. From pumping up the mountain bike tires himself, to recommending local attractions to mailing my forgotten shirt back to me, he made things run very smoothly for us. Cheers to him.

A/C marginal in room 306. Ate twice at the Steak house and it was very good even with new employees. Upon arrival, the elevator was broken and someone left the bath floor heater on, making the room very hard to cool until the next day. The Continental breakfast that was included with our rate was fresh and had good variety. Too bad a regular breakfast was not available on site.

Room Tip: #306 might be a good room if the A/C is improved.

Hotel was extremely clean. Beds were comfortable. Nice view, ample parking and lots of those thick plush towels , Fridge in the room, Keurig coffee machine and bath robes.
Stayed for 3 nights. We were a group of 250 persons and they accommodated us extremely well. They were very good at taking care of such a large group from check-in, to meals, to room cleanliness.
There is also a spa on site offering a wide variety of services however we did not have the time
to try it out.

We had the unfortunate experience of staying here June 11th and 12. We checked in and the place was dead and all closed up. We found out only 3 accommodations were being used. We went to the rear parking area to get to the 3rd floor. The entry was worn and dirty cigarette butts filled the containers but no one was there. We arrived at our suite and it was very nice and clean. It appeared to have been redone. TV in the bathroom mirror, Kurig coffee pot, large bar with 2 fridges. Nothing was open, only one bar where you could get drinks and food. We did neither. We were told it was the "mud" season and that was why they had no guests. I could go on and on. my question why would they take reservations when there was nothing to enjoy or take part. There were just paved parking lots everywhere. Not my idea of enjoyable.

I go to fancy hotels very often. Rarely do u have a full staff of nice kind people from checking in to room service. From game room addendent to GM. The rooms are out of this world from the massive beds to the massive TV and heated floors with fridge and keurig machine with all k cups u need. The cleanliness is super I wud compare to the OMNI or Waldorf in a flash. The food is unreal I met the chamber of commerce in that were he told me its the best steakhouse in PA. The elegance and ambiance of a resort to be found in that area is not at all common except for the Bushkill inn I advise all to go there try it out ull be amazed with wat u see I myself have been. there around ten times from the king suite to cabins and all in between enjoy Ur stay

you have to go to the third floor to get to your first floor room.. Or walk quite a distance outside. This has been the worst layout I have seen

Also, when I arrived at the room I was assigned, the chambermaid was using the toilet for an extended time and there was a sickening odor in the whole room
