This is one of those places that's hard to wrap your head around. It looks like a hole in the wall. It doesn't have A/C, but the fans kept it almost comfortable even in August. We were the only group in the restaurant. The waitress told us all about the operay house and the town. The food was quite fine. Try this; you might feel like you stepped back in time.
Related story: When we drove through Death Valley Junction in 2004, I wouldn't get out of the car; the place looked like something out of a slasher movie! In 2009, we were back, and it looked a bit better so I went in to ask a question, and we took some pictures. In 2011, we actually went in to see the gift shop, and we ate at the Cafe. I'm not afraid of slashers there any more!
