“Enjoy the heat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

This is a very large park with many different kinds of hiking trails and viewing areas. Some of the "trails" can even been done in your car. There's so much to see that it's impossible in only a day or 2. I went in July and really enjoyed the intense heat, but that's just me. Go in the fall or spring if your not into the heat and bring lots of water. Try to plan out the spots you wish to see so your not driving hours in the park between locations.

“Interesting experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We decided to go to Taho through Death Valley and what a trip.. long, exhausting, but still one in a lifetime experience.. Hot as hell, even though we went there in September.. can be a bit monotonous, but place like not any other I have seen... so worth seeing if you have plenty of time.. and good music in your car!! :)

“Lots of driving”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Death Valley is a huge park with lots of driving to get to the sites but the scenery is beautiful so it makes the drive seem shorter. Leave early and plan for the day out to see the points of interest.

“A strange and fascinating place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We love love visiting National Parks and have visited many of the "heavy hitters"- Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Zion, Grand Teton etc., but Death Valley ranks right up there- it is so different than any other park we had been to! I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that this is just a desert so if youve seen one desert youve seen them all. This was not the case. It was fascinating and very strange- I can only imagine how people felt when they got to it after a long wagon ride to the "promised land" to only find more nothingness. Anyways it was very cool- we drove from Vegas and it was a nice change from the hustle of Vegas. The stillness was beautiful. It was only a 2 1/2 hour drive- we rented a car from the airport and headed out-it was totally worth it! BUY THE NATIONAL PARK PASS! It saves you so much money- $80 for unlimited parks for the year- it generally pays for itself with a visit to two or three parks.

“Very cool place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

There is so much to see and do in the park. Take a few days and make sure to see as much as you can. Scotty's Castle is a good drive, but it is neat to see!
