We just stopped by this spot because of a write-up in a Death Valley handout, and were lucky enough to see a coyote right next to the parking lot as we pulled in. He nonchalantly strolled up the hill and disappeared over the ridge. It is very difficult to imagine how desolate this place would have been when it was in operation, and how hard the work must have been. We walked for quite a distance on the trail leading out from the exhibit area, and enjoyed it a lot.
