Stay here only if you are in this area and no other motel around. But it is a tad better then one across the street. Small breakfast area, only 3 tables for 2. Limited breakfast items. Holes in sheets and blanket. Couldn't completely turn water off in shower. Felt like been in a sauna after shower as no ac vent in bathroom. Old ac in where a window had been, noisey. Could not close bathroom door completely as door larger then opening. Washcloths were so thin could almost read through them, thin scratchy towels.

I too was guided to this hotel by a name-your-price site and I was very happy with my decision. I found the bed super comfortable and the room was very clean and fresh-smelling. Super water pressure and a very friendly and knowledgable manager by the name of Gary. I only needed to stay one night but would not hesitate to return. I got a great night's sleep despite being on a busier thoroughfare. I was a bit leary when I noticed some younger people being somewhat loud, but once inside my room I couldn't hear a thing. I found this experience comparable to many 80 dollar a night hotels, but for close to half that. When needing to stay in the area again, I will glady return with my business.

Room Tip: My room was upstairs, and in south Florida summertime, its always best to check in, start your a/c a...

If you just need a place to stay without the frills, then the Super 8 will work for you. However, if you would like to have some extra amenities, look elsewhere.

First thing - check in was somewhat slow. We used another website's "un-advertised" prices and this is the hotel it chose (a better name-your-own price website filters out these kind of hotels because of the bad quality). The staff was nice - but they did tell us that we reserved a smoking room. So I asked to see if we could change it to a non-smoking room if required (my wife is pregnant) - and he said for an extra $5 a night, that would be possible.

We walked into the first room and there was a horrendous smell of smoke - almost like the worst room was given to us in order to get an extra $5 per night. Went back down and paid the extra $20 for our stay to go to a non-smoking room.

Walked into the non-smoking room and it smelled musty and moldy. We found hairs in the sheets and in the bathtub of the room.

The room did come with a "wet bar" which included a sink (the hot and cold were backwards) and a microwave & fridge. Microwave worked when we made some popcorn, and the fridge also worked - but smelled bad as well.

The wireless Internet was very spotty because whomever set it up - didn't do so correctly. They either set the signal so low that you barely could maintain a connection (we got bumped off dozens of times and was very aggravating), or it was because the access points all had the same "name" and were all using the same channel causing conflicts. The wireless Internet also attaches a scrolling banner at the top of your browser window showing news of the day.

However, the pillows and beds were comfortable - but the rooms definitely needed to be overhauled with the smell, cracks in the wall, and the windows that fogged up and were in need of repair.

The breakfast - or lack thereof - only included a choice of two cereals and danish rolls. Because were were on a budget, we made it work.

There were other amenities that we didn't use - because it was cold - such as the outdoor pool or the computer in the lounge (15 minute limit and they charge $1 per sheet printed and $1 for every minute over 15). They also did have a pay laundry machine/dryer. We did use the ice machine and it worked well.

The hotel was conveniently located off US-41 so it was easy to find - and central to the beaches that we wanted to go to - that were both north and south of the hotel.

Was this a 2-star hotel? Absolutely not. We stayed at a 2.5-star rated hotel for three nights prior to arriving here - and it was like a 5-star hotel compared to this one. This hotel should only be a 1-star hotel.

So, if you are on a budget and you simply need a place to stay for the night of a couple of nights, this may work out for you - but don't expect anything else.

When we walked into the room it had a moldy smell. The air conditioner took about an hour to cool the room down. The window in the bathroom was unlocked and could easily be opened from the outside. The worst part of the stay was when we returned from an outing with friends, very tired and ready to curl up in bed, we pulled the sheets back to find a brown dirty spot and dog hair all over the bed sheets and pillows. We immediatley called the front desk to let them know and initially was told they do not have access to the laundry room for fresh sheets. After complaining a bit more we were able to change rooms which was somewhat better. We talked with some friends who also stayed in this hotel on the same night and they, just for the night, became the proud owner of several cock roaches. They found the roaches on the floor and bath towels. I will give credit where credit is due though. I have a few good points, the water pressure from the shower was really good, which for us was a good thing considering all the other issues. The bed was soft, pillows not so much. There was a microwave and mini refrigerator which was much needed for the caffeine my body would require from the lack of sleep. If you can possibly avoid this place do so. There are several hotels in the area that looked much nicer than this and the prices were comparable. I unfortunatley was unaware of this at the time.

The room was very clean. It was nice and quiet at night. All the public areas like pool and parking had plenty of lights at night, and were well maintained. All the staff were very polite and willing to do anything to make you happy. Free coffee in the morning. (smile) I totally enjoyed my week long stay.

Regards,

John Mackenzie

My family and I stayed here for several weeks during June and July of 2011. The staff and owners couldn't have been nicer and more accomodating. They made it feel like home away from home and gave us fair rates for extended stays. We will, without a doubt, recommend this place as well as stay here again if we need.
