“Dinner's are good, brunches are oustanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2010

Have been dining here since Wiley opened this place far from the friendly confines of Yellow Springs. Not a fine dining experience by any means but always good, sometimes interesting, has never been disappointed. The weekend brunches are worth some travel time and a wait because of the diverse offerings that are well-prepared at a reasonable price. When in season, fried green tomato sandwich is outstanding. Grits and shrimp pretty much as tasty as it can get

This place is really really small in a strip mall. The quality of food makes up for the lack of atmosphere. I had the Artic Char which was a 'special' on a Sat evening. It was very tasty. My service was great. My meal came in about 10 min. Unfortunately the table for two next to me walked out complaining that their entree had taken too long. The server tried to explain that there was a 'printer malfunction' causing their order to be delayed. Evidently they had has a prior bad experience so they left. Their loss!! Dessert was even better Rhubard Crisp with strawberries and ice cream. A true Midwestern delight!!

“The best Dayton has to offer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2010

We hate to recommend this restaurant because it's getting harder and harder to get a table. The food here is absolutely awesome. The chef is a master of blending flavors and spices. She has gotten us to eat food we would normally not eat because we know if Wiley serves it, it is great.
Their Sunday brunch is the best in Dayton.

“Great Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2010

I just ate dinner at Meadowlark based largely on the reviews I saw here. I will say that it was a pleasant dinner. The beet appetizer with a hint of horseradish with walnuts and goat cheese was fabulous. I also had the walleye special with was worthy of being called "special". I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for superb food.

“Tiny restaurant with hugely great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2010

I love going to Meadowlark! Unique foods, prepared perfectly. I've gone out on a limb a couple of times when I order their "different" concoctions but have always been very pleased with the delicious meals. Service is always good. I wonder if they've ever thought about expanding because seating is always tight there. I am also curious about the reviewer who raved about Meadowlark's hamburgers. While I'm sure their burgers would be very well-prepared, you can get a good burger a lot of places. You can't get Meadowlark's variety much of anywhere -- so go and try something new!! You won't be disappointed!
