“Bates Motel Would Be Better”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

Our stay at this hotel, was terrible. The fire-alarms randomly went off repeatedly, and the hotel was populated by all kinds of seedy people. We encountered a man, apparently high on drugs in the hallway screaming for help, vomit all over the floor in the elevator, and there were multiple police visits- all in the course of a few days. There were people sitting in their cars in the parking lot who honked the horn at all hours of the night ( seemed like they were doing drug deals) and a woman across the hall who had different male " visitors" coming in constantly. Our refridgerator was broken, as was the AC/HEATING unit on the wall. During our first week, a man with a toddler was locked out of his unit and he spent the entire night knocking on the door for his "friend" to let he and his baby back in. The ordeal lasted the entire night. None of the staff were there to intervene. The cleaning lady comes only once a week, and you get one towel and one washcloth. It's not like a regular hotel. Before you leave, they expect you to strip the sheets off the bed, and to take the garbage out.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room.

“RUN!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2011

If you are in collage and live in a frat house, than this is the right place for you. When you FINALLY find someone at the front desk, don't bother because THEY DON'T CARE. When you call their "after hours" number, no one answers that either. What to expect ... police in the parking lot nightly; the smell of pot throughout the hotel; your car being broke into; rude, uncaring staff; fire alarms continuing to go off at all hours; yelling and partying in the hallways all night. It seemed to quiet down around 4:00 am.

Room Tip: Down the street ... there is a Studio 6 ... same price, nice staff, quiet, clean, people working the...

“Make sure what the room/price includes”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2011

Needed an extended stay place , the 159.99 a week was appealing, but you only get that rate after being there after 4 weeks. There are kitchenettes but no utensils , no silverware, dishes, not pots and pans , NOTHING, you have to supply them yourself. You get one set of towels, and that is it , you have to wash them yourself because they are not replaced. You get 1 roll of toilet paper, and after that you have to buy your own. There is WIFI internet but the speed is dial up. All in all I had to stay there for 2 weeks , the worst place I every stayed at. Good luck on getting help at the front desk .

Thank you for the feedback. We regret to hear that you were unhappy with your accommodations. It looks like you were not made aware that we are not a full service hotel. InTown Suites is an economy extended stay facility. We strive to keep our weekly rates low, which is why we are limited in the services that we offer. We do provide housekeeping on a weekly basis, and do give guests fresh linens at this time. However, we do not replace toiletries or provide kitchen utensils and cookware.

We apologize if our staff did not assist you as needed or explain our services to you prior to check-in. We typically allow all guests an opportunity to view their suite before paying for the first week so that they do know what to expect. At the time that you were a guest, this location had weekly rates at $159.99 as well as a Monthly Plu$ Rate that gave guests who paid four weeks in advance a fifth week free. We are able to offer great deals such as this due to the fact that we are limited in the services and amenities that are available.

Again, we are sorry that you were not pleased, and only hope that you will give InTown Suites another opportunity to exceed your expectations if you are in need of affordable temporary lodging in the future.

“Realize what you're paying for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2010

This is not the wealthiest commercial section of Dayton, and there are plenty of colorful stories about this hotel, its clients, and the neighborhood.

Sometimes I stay at the best places; other times I stay very inexpensively. I stayed here because it was a walk of just a few *seconds* from where I needed to work for several days. For my needs, it was perfect.

I can't speak for everyone, but my sheets were NEW. The bathroom was clean. The carpet appeared clean. Under the bed had been vacuumed. The fridge and kitchen area were clean. The packaged terminal heat pump (you can also call it an "air-conditioner" and still be technically correct) functioned correctly.

The bedspread was soiled, but weather was hot anyhow and I had brought my own blanket. Housekeeping cheerfully replaced it. The phone had multiple issues, but management stayed with it until it worked correctly. You will pay for local and long-distance calls, but the rates are modest (.25 first minute, .10 subsequent) compared to many hotels. I did not try the Internet service. The mattress wasn't too bad.

The office hours were not the best for me, but the service was acceptable and the employees were never unkind. And there were plenty of employees around during the day prior to when the office opened.

If I needed a place like this again for several days or nights, I definitely would return. For the money saved, I'm happy to bring some of my own bedding and surface some issues with the staff.

It's my policy to not write anonymous reviews. My name is MARC ABEL, and you may confirm that I wrote this by asking me about it yourself.

Mr. Abel - We appreciate the review and are glad you enjoyed your stay. As an economy extended stay facility, we realize we are not for every traveler, nor every travel situation. However, when you need to stay in a place for an extended period of time - and need to stay on a budget - we believe we provide outstanding value.

Part of the way we keep rates low is by operating limited office hours (usually 11am-7pm, Monday thru Saturday). However, to make paying for rooms even easier for our guests, we have launched an online payment option on our website. This will allow us to maintain the low rates afforded by the limited hours, while making payment easier and more convenient for our guests.

Hope to see you again in the future.

“Intown Suites Dayton Ohio”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2010

I moved into the Intown Suites a year ago. It was just me and my husband. We had heard good things about this location. We thought it would be great way to save up money for a new place. Boy was I wrong. I have spent more money that I have saved. This place has become a night mare. The room was ok size for me and him. Housekeeping is a joke. The smoke alarms all hours of the night because people do not know how to cook. The drugs are beyond belief. There have been 7 arrest in 2 days. Drive by but do not stop. Run as fast as you can. They have had 2 S. O. since we have been here. The first was a hooked on drugs and the 2 one drinks beer in empty rooms. I fell last week on the side walk because they did not clean them very good. I had the front clerk fill out a report. The next day the GM was here and I wanted to know what they were going to do about it. All he said was it was an act of God and was not going to do anything. He also stated he wished he had been here to see it because it was funny.
