“Great Hotel and Great Staff!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

We just stayed for 2 nights (1-2 Feb). The hotel is super clean and very very nice. Belinda was the Desk clerk that checked us in and she was terrific. Treated us like we were one of the family. What a fantastic employee. You don't find folks like this very often in the Hotel business. I read a recent post about deer on the property and she took the time to tell us where they roam on the property. We saw her the next day when she was off work and she entered the building for a meeting and remembered our name. Sleep Inn has a gem in Belinda.
The room we stayed in (107) was quiet and super clean. The cleaning staff was really friendly. Breakfast was part of the room and was very good. Had eggs with cheese inside. Bacon and sausage was available. The biscuits and gravy were great. The location is spectacular - up on a hill and very secluded - no noise whatsoever. This hotel is doing everything right. I'm not surprised at the rating. They have a plaque on the wall touting the 5 star rating from TripAdvisor. They deserve it. With employees like Belinda, they can't go wrong. We have never stayed here before but we plan on coming back and when we do we will definitely stay here!!!

Mike L

Room Tip: We had a room facing the back of the hotel and it was super quiet but I'm guessing all the rooms...

We have stayed at Sleep Inn on several occasions. I find this to be a great place when traveling to see relatives or friends in the Ky-Tn area. Middlesboro is a small town, a lot of restaurants and the "famous" tunnel bored thru the mountains ! We have always gotten a clean , comfortable room, a decent breakfast and a friendly welcome! Recently we stayed there during a death in the family and they offered their condolences when making the reservation and upon arrival. We noted that they had updated the rooms and they were nicely done. The biggest treat was upon arrival I looked out the large window( being on the backside of the hotel) and there were 2 fairly large deer looking at me! We watched them for awhile and they retreated back into the wooded area. NICE! This hotel is located up a small hill, just beside the only other hotel in the area. Prices are within a couple of dollars and this seems to have less traffic noise from the highway. It is close to many places to eat ( a new Cracker Barrel) Ryans and Mexican along with all the fast foods and Walmart across the street. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone traveling 25E near Middlesboro.

Room Tip: The backside upper floors is where we generally stay and find it to be quiet (and I saw the deer!) R...

While on a road trip, we stopped in Middlesboro KY on Oct. 22, 2013 so that we could do the Cumberland Gap Nat'l Park the next day. Our hotel chain of preference was not an option. As always, I looked at Tripadvisor & knew that the Sleep Inn gets great reviews. It's a small town & we looked at all the hotel/motel options before deciding which one to choose. The only 2 in town that appealed to us were Sleep Inn or Holiday Inn Express. I called both & they were basically the same cost, but the Sleep Inn is located back behind the Holiday Inn up on a hill in a beautiful wooded area. Since it's further away from the busy road, we opted for Sleep Inn. It's a newer hotel & obviously well upgraded from the older Sleep Inns. Check In was easy with a pleasant clerk helping us. Our room had beautiful décor with a very long counter top with a fridge & microwave under it, plus 3 dresser drawers, plus a desk area with an office chair & a multi-plug unit by the lamp. More outlets than we needed - that never happens. The flat screen TV was mounted on the wall. We had 2 very comfortable queen beds plus an upholstered chair. The bedding was high quality. There was a full length mirror mounted on the wall. The bathroom was all in one but had a huge vanity with room enough for both of us to put all of our toiletries on. The light switch /fan combo was on the inside of the room & the exhaust fan was quiet. We like the switch(s) inside so when using in the middle of the night we can close the door before turning the light on. We also prefer that the light & fan be on separate switches; but since this fan was very quiet - yet effective, it was OK. There was a high rise toilet (why don't hotels routinely put them in??) with the vanity & tub close enough to use instead of grab bars. I have some knee limitations but don't need a full fledged handicapped room - yet. Was very comfortable in this bathroom. Their bar soap is nicer than the usual fare. It was a very quiet hotel for sleeping - no road noise. Breakfast choices were plentiful - 2 kinds of egg patties (one with cheese & one without), sausage links, bacon, biscuits, English muffins, cheese Danish, & other sweet rolls, coffee, juice, milk, hard boiled eggs, cold cereals, oatmeal packets etc. We're very glad we opted to stay here. It's on a par with many higher priced hotels we've stayed at. Would definitely recommend it to others & stay here again if passing this way on another trip.

For the price, I have never stayed at a nicer hotel. The hotel is newer, and kept very clean. We had a suite (they may all be). The room is big and as nice as some higher end chains. No kidding, really. My wife loved the bed, and it was very comfortable. We had little interaction with the staff, but they seemed nice. The breakfast in the morning is set up in a very pretty room. It is a full breakfast buffet style. You can have eggs, waffles (you make), bacon, sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt, breads, pastry, juice, milk and coffee. They has someone assigned to the area if you need help. Very well done.

Middlesboro is in a pretty area, and this hotel would make me return again. GREAT job!

Room Tip: If you get a room in front you will have a great mountain view. But at the back, you get to see pret...

We could not have asked for a better hotel for our unexpected short notice trip for a funeral. After driving all night Friday (09/27/13), I called at 11am Saturday morning to ask if there was any way we could get an early check in. I explained that we were still traveling and would be arriving in about 2 hours. The receptionist immediately put my concerns to ease, she said that our reserved room had just been vacated and that she would have the housekeeping staff prepare our room immediately. Thankfully, after driving 13 hours from Connecticut we arrived to find our room was in deed ready and it was perfect! This hotel looks brand new and is immaculate. Our room (number 212) was large, spotless and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, extremely clean and had plenty of towels. Our room had a wall mounted flat screen TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, a desk, lounge chair with ottoman and a king size bed that was really comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the window had room darkening curtains. There was an ice machine and vending machine (snacks only- no drinks) on our floor. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast every morning. Unfortunately, we got up too late to see what they had to offer. However, even though the lights weren’t on in the dining room they still had coffee out which was what we really wanted anyway! They also had yogurt available so we grabbed a couple of those too. They did have a juice machine, cereal dispensers, a waffle iron and if I had to guess they probably put eggs out as well. The hotel is located right off the main road in Middlesboro with a lot of stores and restaurants around. There is a Wal-Mart and a McDonald’s right across the street. The funeral services we attended were actually in Tazewell, TN which is about 45 minutes away from Middlesboro. Having been to the area before I knew our hotel options were limited so while researching I was extremely happy to come across the Sleep Inn and its excellent reviews. I actually couldn’t believe a night in this hotel was only $92.00 including taxes and breakfast, a hotel in this nice of condition would be triple the price in Connecticut. We were beyond pleased with this hotel, the staff was great and the room surpassed our expectation. This hotel deserves every award it has won and I highly recommend it!

This hotel is nearly new or maintained so well you would never know it wasn't new. The desk clerk went out of his way to accommodate us. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was great.,
