“Spectacular Schooner Sail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Going to Yorktown, Virginia? All the history is great but for pure fun and excitement be sure to book a cruise through the Yorktown Sightseeing Day Sails; operated by Schooners "Alliance" and "Serenity". An afternoon on the "Alliance" was a fantastic time and a highlight of the total trip to the Williamsburg area. With perfect sun, wind and water, the crew of the "Alliance' made it very exciting to watch the sails being managed and the response of the boat to them as we cut through the wind and tipped close to the water. The cost was very reasonable for two hours of a memorable experience.

“Pirate Cruise excellent for the kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

A gorgeous afternoon cruise enjoyed by the children and adults alike. The "young pirates" were enlisted to hoist the sails and to take the helm. The dolphins put on a show like no other -- our lucky day!!!! The crew were interactive, engaging, full of tales and instruction. The entire family enjoyed the total experience.

“Nice & worth the $$”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

For $35, this is a nice sunset cruise. The view is beautiful & the staff were nice. Eat before you go unless you want to buy snacks onboard, but the cruise is only 2 hours. We enjoyed a nice meal at the River Walk afterwards & chalked the evening up as fantastic. The crew were friendly & pleasant.

I know another writer mentioned the staffs clothing. We didn't mind their casual style & thought it was fitting for a sailboat. Had we have paid much more for our tickets, then I might expect them to be decked out (pardon the pun) & serving refreshments on a fancy platter.

I recommend the cruise for its price & we enjoyed a lovely evening with friendly folks and in good company.

“Breathtaking sunset sail!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

This is a must-do if you are visiting Yorktown in the evening. We had about 15 dolphins join us for about 20 minutes as the sun was setting, quite lovely to watch! Libations are available for purchase. I believe they sell hotdogs on board, so I would recommend eating before sailing. The crew were fantastic!!!!!!! A++

“Sailing on the Aliance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

This is a two-hour sailing adventure on a Schooner "The Alliance." We went on the Sunset Cruise which was very informative. The Crew was very friendly and the one crew member that gave about a 20 minute explanation or the history of Yorktown was excellent. He was very clear and easy to understand and kept it light and funny as well. When one of the you kids interrupted, he very sweetly answered their question and moved on with the history talk. Excellent guide. Plus he was excellent sailor as he demonstrated his art. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something interesting to do for a couple hours with someone special.
