“Hidden gem in a delightful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2010

We extended our stay to 5 nights at the end of our holiday. The service was excellent. We asked for and got a quiet room - on the end of the third floor. Hotel is well designed and superbly located. There are nice walks and cycles to the harbor and beach areas - bicycles are available to rent. There is a good restaurant serving all day. We were pleased with the pool and appreciated the laundry facilities available for use by guests. Parking is free.

Brophy Bros is a good fish restaurant in the harbor area, within walking distance . Ventura itself is very attractive with lots of shops selling art, crafts and fashion. City hall is worth a visit. The Sidecar Restaurant near the Shopping Mall was the best restaurant we came across, serving locally sourced food. There is an intimate atmosphere and an excellent blues singer there on the night we visited.

The staff is wonderful but the hotel site is awful. It used to be one big hotel and they cut it into two (Holiday Inn Express got the other half) and I think Sheraton got the raw end of the deal. They put me at the very end of the block in the last room which was very kind because it was enormous. They even called to see if I liked my room.

This hotel is very close to the harbor and has tons of access to the surrounding area. My room was imaculate and freshly painted with a comfortable bed. I even got my breakfast in the adjoining restaurant for free just because they liked my smiling face (I guess). The food is very good there but there is a lot in the harbor to eat too.

Bad news is if you like a view there is NONE here. I had a view of some upturned sewage pipes and the back end of the harbor. There is some dead grass in the courtyard to look at next to a terribly battered old spa. They really need to drop some money into improving the grounds.

I do like the fact that you get free water and internet, etc. Starwood has some good policies.

Stayed for one night and the room met my expectations. Weird carpet in the rooms though. Bathroom has the sink outside of the area with the bathtub toilet. Bed was comfy and sheets weren't scratchy. But was woken up early (was still dark) by someone upstairs what sounded like big heavy boots and I was wearing earplugs. I would stay here again if possible. If possible, I would recommend getting a room that overlooks the marina if you want a nice view.

stayed one night on a driving vacation up the coast of California. Very nice lobby area, super staff at front desk. Quiet location, right on the marina. Terrific large room, comfy bedding,

Will likely be staying here again, it is close enough from home to make it an easy drive, but far enough away to be a short vacation destination.

One problem, only 1 ice machine on the floor, and the 3rd floor had MANY rooms.
It happened to be at the OPPOSITE end of the hallway from our room. It was out of ice.
Inconvenient to have to go down a flight of stairs each time we needed a bucket of ice.

Expensive upscale restaurant off the lobby, we did not want to pay the high price to dine here. PLENTY of other nearby restaurants with good value.

The Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor is a pretty nice hotel on the harbor. It is pretty close to the Ventura Harbor Village and is walking distance to the ocean. This hotel is a partial motel style with only a half wall in front of your room. The room is nice and newly renovated with a flat screen T.V and pretty nice beds. The bathroom is nice because it has a very comfortable showerhead. But, the toilet is very small. This hotel also features a nice restaurant with views to the harbor. Overall, this hotel is not bad if you pay around a $100. If you pay over it is not worth it.

We spent one month travelling around california and had the best time of out lives. On our travels we stayed at 3 hotels in total and stayed at the Four Points for 10 nights- we were shocked at how beautiful it was and for such great value.

The hotel was clean, friendly and the service was amazing. the staff were extremely helpful and polite.

The only slight downfall was the fact that it was a bit of a treck from the town of ventura but this wasn't a problem because there was a bus that ran from straight outside the hotel. The great part of this being out of town was the face that it was so peaceful. The beach (a slight walk from the hotel - but a lovely walk- walking around the marina) next to the hotel was beautiful and so quiet. There were some restaurants and shops at the end of the marina and the staff again were so friendly. There was a fab casual cafe style restaurant where we have never seen such service- well worth a visit!

If you get a chance to go when the county fair is on- it was amazing- plus a free bus ride in to town every day.

At the hotel there is a great swimming pool and an amazing jacuzzi- very relaxing!

In ventura town there is a tourist info shop which was great- gave us ideas about some great day trips.

When ever we talk about our trip to LA this is the hotel that always get brought up in conversation- i would def stay here again!!!!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this property, sorry to see they are not participating in the current SPG promo but needless to say, good choice. It is located just off the 101 in Ventura. I like the location because it is more of a residential area than a commercial area.

First impression was good, clean lobby, modern well lit and friendly staff. I was upgraded to suite which had living area as well as a separate bedroom and bath. Overall the rooms are a bit dated and they use the old wall mounted style AC units which I do not like so I slept with screen door to VERY LARGE patio open at night, very pleasant weather so it worked. Fitness Center was a bit of a disappointment so I ran 2 days there on the treadmill and hit a local 24 Hour Fitness for the weights, pool and hot tub were nice looking though I didn't use them, they also had tennis which I didn't use either. I liked the laundry being on premises and it is free!

Had a meal in restaurant which was very good and service was also good. Coffee made by room service was perfect! Nice and strong.

All in all a nice place to stay when in town on biz.
