“Excellent but sparse (and cheap) hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We saw this place advertised on the highway for $39 a night and they gave that price to us although the sign on the hotel said $42 a night. Apparently, everything had just been renovated, and it showed. Very clean. Absolutely no extras (no breakfast, etc.) except they did give free Wi-Fi, which was good. Got a good room, quiet, and the staff was helpful and nice. You do get what you pay for, but this was quite good at the price. Don't expect anything but the most minimal in creature comforts, though.

Room 102 had no wifi. There staff is aware of the issue but fail to remedy the problem. Unacceptable. Desk person freckle face brunette obviously knew of issue but still put me in sub par room. Room had mothball or some vomit odor. The room was basic nothing to get excited about. Response from Manager when I asked him was unconcerned. I stayed at the Motel 6 across the I-10 & Mesa the previous week & it was a lot better with a fridge & microwave. No smell. & They had WIFI that worked.

Wifi – kept losing the connection
no towel racks – we had an accessible room, but still, please don’t forget the towel racks
tv – a very small 19”
bed – was little uncomfortable
Love!! The desk – large and easy to work on
room size – awesome
soft towels instead of the sandpaper ones at other hotels
clean room – but sink was gross and need to be replaced
electrical outlet = fire hazard= lose from the wall
pet friendly

It was a good experience and I would stay again.

Stayed here while on a visit to Carlsbad Caverns - our first and last nights on a five day trip. Like most discount chains, the bedding is tired and worn, the mattresses are from the last century and the towels would be used as rags under most circumstances... add that the carpeting on the 3rd floor is disgusting - stained and littered with debris from other guests - we found candy bar wrappers and empty pop bottles while searching for one of the very few electrical outlets in the room.

Our return stay put us on the second floor which apparently was rehabbed - no carpeting but cleaner wood/vinyl flooring - same old bedding and towels..... Check-in took too long and check-out is required if you want your $1.62 (tax included) back for not using the in-room safe - they refuse to issue this credit upon arrival......

All in all a cheap nights rest - we came in late and left early so it suited our needs.....

Room Tip: Second floor or asked for a refurnished room

This hotel is at a great location and the staff is amazing. The night clerk Mary is totally awesome and Olga is the best housekeeper I've seen at a hotel I've ever stayed at. Keep up the great job and anytime I'm in the area I'll be there.

I have been planning this trip for months when I was able to make reservations I started checking reviews. I booked this Inn because of the reviews and the price. There was about a one inch line all the way around the room on the carpet next to the wall where it was not vacumed. a plastic tag for hanging socks in the store was behind the entry door. There was a ring in the toliet and a chunk of something in the sink. The carpet was stained and looked dirty, loose with a couple of rolls big enough to trip on. The counter person offered us a different room. But after 13 hours on the road we were to tired to move. The bed was comfortable pillows were hard. Pillow case was so thin is spots I am supprised it hadnt torn. I would think the maid and manager would be embarressed to rent a room like that. Having been a maid in the past I cant believe anyone oked that room as clean.
