It's one of those old theathers from the 1930s that was totally redone and converted into the City Theatre, thanks to the effort of El Paso Community Foundation. They have a very good broadway show and concert season every year. Check the calendar of events at http://visitelpaso.com/cpac/plaza_events. We went to see Wicked and had a wonderful time.
If you like architecture from the 1930s you can even tour the property. They have one of those magnificent Wurlitzer organs.
