“Very impressive service and pride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

We stayed here August 1-4 while visiting friends. The check-in was prompt, and courteous, and very welcoming. The entire facility was clean, and very "homey". I loved being able to use the gym on MY time, instead of having to use some arbitrary schedule. I would have loved a swimming pool - but for the price, we were more than satisfied with these accommodations, and very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff.

First let me tell you the good parts of this hotel. We had a horrible experience coming into El Paso. My husband called really late one night to make a reservation and the lady that was at the front desk was so nice. We got a room and the room is big for the price; it had two double beds, a full size fridge, a dishwasher, sink, dishes, two eye stove, and a microwave. There is also a free laundry downstairs; which is nice.
When we opened the door something smelled horrible; but because it was so late we just ignored it and went to bed. Every time you leave the room the ac resets itself so it was annoying when one person left to do something the ac stopped running. Each time we left and came back into the room the smell knocked us down. We thought it was the garbage disposal so I put some orange peel in it and ran it for awhile. Then I ran the dishwasher cause it had a bad smell. When I opened the freezer the smell was in there also. I don't know what the smell was but it was there and very strong for the couple of days we stayed. We would have stayed longer but I could not stand the smell. I think we should have just ask to move to another room but the hotel was packed after a bus of soldiers checked in. I think this hotel would be fine to stay at if you get one that doesn't smell bad.
Also, the water had a very strong bleach taste. The coffee that you get is Maxwell; which I'm sure is fine for some but it's not what we enjoy. And housekeeping only comes once a week.

If you need to stay here, it is a very good hotel. There is no breakfast, but since it is a "suite hotel", it has everything you need to make meals, full size fridge/freezer, electric stove, microwave, kitchen sink, pots, pans and all eating utensils. There is a Walmart super center a few blocks to the north, an excellent Texas barbecue restaurant a block to the west (Great American Land & Cattle Co.), a 16 plex movie theater on the next block and a minor league ballpark across the street. This hotel has its own lot and is isolated from the other businesses so don't worry about the potential traffic, it isn't there.

The room is spacious and the climate control worked fine and was quiet enough to run all night without disturbing me. The bathroom is spacious with lots of room in it and nice plush towels.

Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. There is a little self help convenience "store" in the lobby if you really must get a snack or something, but you are so close to the Walmart that you can get anything you need there so long as you have a car.

I would be happy to stay here again.

Stayed there on my way out of El Paso, hidden secret. Staf was very helpful and nice. Room was very nice for what I paid. Excellent location. One thing they need to do is advertise and let the people know about them. People showed pride in what they were doing.

You have to travel to the north end of El Paso to find this hotel but once you do, it is easy off/on from highway 54 with convenient restaurants within a very short drive. This is a Holiday Inn type property but has features more like Residence Inn except no breakfast. The room comes equipped with a nice kitchen including all required appliances, dishes, flat wear. Bathroom had good amenities and was spacious and well lit. Parking area was large enough to handle a full house. Staff were cooperative and check-in and check-out was fast.

I had occasion to move things in and out in the middle of the night and did not once see staff. Anyone could have come in through the front door so my sense was that there was virtually no security except for the locks on the room doors and side doors.

There was one time where I had to call complaining about noise from the fourth floor. I was in room 307. Typical lack of sound proofing when kids are jumping or running while I was trying to sleep that you will experience in almost every hotel.

Overall the stay was fine and I would stay here again if they could improve the security at night. otherwise I intend to go elsewhere.

Room Tip: Stay on the fourth floor.

While traveling through Texas, we were looking for a clean and comfortable hotel that was pet friendly. The hotel had a small fee for pets but it was worth it. The room was clean and spacious. It came with a full kitchen too. The bathroom was large and clean as well. The front desk clerk gave me some great recommendations on places to eat nearby. The hotel was also quiet, which is something we really value. I would recommend this to other travelers passing through Texas.

Visited El Paso over the Memorial Day weekend and had a very pleasant stay at the Candlewood Suites. Check-in was fast and easy. Front desk clerk was very pleasant and informative. The room was as expected, large and well equipped. Hotel was quiet the entire time even though it was fairly full. Took advantage of the full kitchen to cook up our own grub, which is the real advantage to staying at a property like this. Overall we enjoyed the stay and would stay here again, should we get to El Paso again.
