An odd place. The rooms are nice enough and the location is great...but the overall feel of the hotel is simply awful. The elevators are pretty screwed up. Seems like a petty gripe, I know, but let me explain...constantly had to wait (and wait and wait) to catch one. There is no staff elevator so usually you are crammed in with a load of garbage or cleaning supplies (or you can't get on an elevator because of the same). I was at a conference there and there wasn't a single elevator ride in which a customer didn't comment on the service or the elevators.
Some of the staff are pleasant but most seem to be as annoyed as the guests are. Most of them seem to spend much of THEIR day waiting around too...through no fault of their own. With a few individual exceptions, customer service is not a primary concern. If you catch the right desk clerk, you might get some useful help or advice. Otherwise, you get to figure it out on your own. I won't go back.

Elevators at our hotel can be an issue. As we have 14 floors and the guest rooms start at the 4th floor, the elevators are in constant use. With only 3 elevators, it would be hard to designate 1 elevators to just be used by staff. However, I do think we may look for other options, rescheduling certain duties to low traffic times may be one. As you wrote, other guest have mentioned this, and it would benefit both our guest and definitely the morale of our staff. When a person is happy at what they do and feel they are doing a good job it shows. Thank you so much for writing your review. I can't wait to get to work on turning this around. I hope you will reconsider, and stay with us again in the future.

I decided to pay a bit more and booked an executive floor balcony room with a queen bed for a night on the town with my husband. Check in was easy and the room was spotless, but it was not worth the extra money I paid. It was literally the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. My husband and I barely had room to move. The balcony overlooked the river, but it had a concrete wall about 5 feet tall so you had to stand up to enjoy the view. If you sat down, you had a view of the wall and that's it, oh, and the sounds of the loud air conditioner blaring in your ear. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and pretty, but it was small as well. The neutrogena products in the bathroom were great. They even had facewash and moisturizer. They have nice, large HD TVs in the rooms, but had cable with an analog signal. Guests on the executive floors recieved a complimentary hotel breakfast in the conceirge lounge, but it was closed with a sign on it thet told us it was closed due to an emergency and we could go to the lobby resturant for our free breakfast, which was fine. Hotel guests park free in the parking garage under the hotel. The employees were very friendly.
Don't get me wrong, the hotel is really nice, upscale, and clean, but, I was dissapointed because I paid a little extra to get what I thought would be a nice big room with a balcony and got a tiny room with a view of a brick wall. So fyi, don't waste your money :) Get a regular room.

The next time you want to have a night out on the town I hope you will choose to stay with us again. Admittedly our queen rooms are smaller in footage, where as our king rooms are much more spacious. It may also explain the air conditioning being so loud as you were much closer to it. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm glad that overall you were pleased. We do have a lot of positive attibutes, great location, as well as the ones you mentioned. I look forward to meeting you on your next visit.

The hotel, from the lobby to the rooms, looks great. The rooms are modern and comfortable with excellent views of the city or river. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Found a great price online, making it by far the best option for a somewhat higher-end hotel experience downtown.

Location: Downtown Little Rock. Noise not a factor if you have a city view. Easy access from the airport - about a 10 minute drive.
Staff Service: Terrible encounter at check in. Requested river view room. Was told at 12:30 pm that there were none. Offered to check in later when one was clean and available. Told none would be available. Was an outright lie. I am a Hilton Honors member and no one told me about the complimentary breakfast buffet. Guess they thought I just knew about it. Went to the restaurant downstairs for dinner one night. The gal was too busy on her personal cell phone to even acknowedge me. I left and spent my money somewhere else. On the second night, I ordered room service and got a less than flattering comment from the wait staff about my order. That was it. I checked out the next morning and spent the remainder of my stay at the Capital Hotel 2 blocks away which I LOVED compared to this place. Overall, this hotel places no value on customer service or even being considerate.
Rooms: Rooms are clean, renovated. No mold in bathroom. Bedding was comfortable. Larger flat screen TV. Small sofa. A/C is quite noisy - if you sleep with the air or heat on, I think the noise would wake you.
Overall Impression: Just OK. The hotel rooms were redone, but if you look twice at some things, the hotel did not go all the way with the remodel. The first impression from the parking garage is less than favorable. Kind of cheesy setting as you wait for the elevator. Elevators are all banged up. Has a feel that they cut corners when remodeling. But the rooms are fine.

I'll be back in Little Rock for future business meetings and will be staying at the Capital Hotel for future stays, even though I don't get any type of program points. That says it all.

The DoubleTree in Little Rock is my favorite hotel in the country--and I've stayed a lot of places. I like the location, newly renovated rooms, the club lounge, the business center, exercise room, covered parking, and--most of all-- the people. The people who work here are unfailingly nice and friendly. That includes everyone--from the cleaning and maintenance staff I meet on the elevator, to the front desk staff and gals who run the club room. One of the best things about the DoubleTree is they don't nickel and dime people to death. All of the things I mentioned above are free--plus a chocolate chip cookie at check-in (which I take home to my wife because I'm on a diet!). I've probably stayed at every Hilton family hotel in Arkansas at one time or another, and this is my favorite. One gal, who works at your front desk, even offered to let me borrow her iPhone charger, when I thought I had left mine at home. All of their employees go above and beyond--and it shows!
