We visited the museum with our four kids: ages 12, 9, 5, and 20 months. We went on a Tuesday in March, so it was not too busy--perfect! The older kids went with Dad and had a great time at every exhibit, testing things out and experimenting with the different displays. Our toddler loved the under 6 area; there were magnets, puzzles, slides, trucks, a toy kitchen and various play structures. He spent most of his time in here. Our 5 year old enjoyed both the regular exhibits as well as the under 6 area (especially the dress-up section). We walked up the road for lunch then came back for more fun in the afternoon. The Tinkering Studio was open at 3, and the kids made paintbrushes and marble contraptions. We also enjoyed the tornado theater (only would recommend this for older kids, may be scary to some children).
Overall, each of us had a blast and learned lots of neat things.
My only critique was that the under 6 area seemed a little dirty, mostly the floors...I noticed because my littlest was crawling all over & around the play structures, and it didn't seem as though the floors had been cleaned very thoroughly (ie. crumbs and little pieces of trash in corners etc), and toddlers seem to pick up everything little.
Overall 5 star experience though! It was deeply satisfying to have each child fully entertained for a full day, especially because it was via hands on education! And the parents had a blast too :)
Worth the money for sure.
