The food at Kobe is good but too expensive. I went with a large graduation party and was responsible for paying half with a friend of mine. We spent about $40 per person (tip included) and we probably would have had a better food experience at a much less expensive Asian buffett.
The preparation presentation, which is what you are really paying for, was very good as always, but I have seen it a number of times and I guess I have gotten used to it. So, I cannot give it a high rating based on the preparation. I suggest Kobe if you want to take your family or significant other out for a special occasion and the person or persons you are taking have not experienced ithe food preparation presentation before. I would not go to Kobe strictly for the food.
Finally, when we arrived, we were not allowed to sit until we had groups of 9 (the number of people who can sit around one grill). I thought this made sense for efficiency purposes until I saw other grills with groups of three or four people sitting around them. I am not sure what this means but just wanted to point out that you should ask about this policy before you arrive.
