Not only do they have home cooked mexican food - like I had a a child from my grandmother - but the prices are great and the staff is friendly and familiar (if you've ever been to La Hacienda on Cantrell)!! The waiter is one from that place and it seems there's a dotted line to that other restaurant - so if you order rice & beans it will be the kind they serve, not recommended if you're into traditional but it's not bad.
The TACOS!! While serving an amazing tasting asada & pollo they also have a barbacoa that is true mexican bbq and then also cabeza (cachete), tripa, lengua & suadero and more. I haven't tried much of the rest of the menu but the Tortas look high priced but they're HUGE - I mean it was about as big as my head!! And goooooood too!
A friend who went with to lunch (and it's a quick lunch for being made right then!) ordered the shrimp plate from the lunch menu - said it was delicious - it came with a small salad of lettuce, avocado & tomato, rice, beans and tortillas too! :)
