“Nice location, service, and facility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

Stayed three nights while in town for business. Staff was friendly, rooms were well-maintained, and it's close to several restaurants. Would definitely stay there again if I get to Little Rock again. Right off the freeway as well.

NONE of my standard Marriott requests were made available--high floor, away from elevator, no down or feathers. I did have to ask for feather pillows to be removed and replaced with non-feather. We smelled something not quite right in the suite but couldn't put a finger on it. After seeing and hearing pets in other suites, I suspect we had been put in a suite that had previously hosted a pet. Our allergies were HORRIBLE the next morning.

Breakfast was a disaster. The lady maintaining food, etc. was over-whelmed and under-trained. We had to ask that coffee containers be filled, food items replenished, etc. Every cup of coffee I had was full of grounds. My husband even went to front desk to try to get some help and was told "talk to the lady in the breakfast area".

Overall, staff was not accommodating.

Marriott needs to step up and do something!

We are so sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with your stay at our hotel, but greatly appreciate hearing the comments and insight that you have shared with us through this review!

As a Marriott hotel, we try to guarantee that every request is able to be met. While we were not able to meet the requests of you being on a high floor or away from elevators, due to high occupancy at the time of your check-in, not having the feather pillows removed from your room prior to arrival was unacceptable. We are a pet-friendly hotel and charge guests with pets a cleaning fee in order to remove the smell. Our front desk staff was not notified of a potentially lingering smell in the room, so we are sorry that this issue was not able to be resolved for you.

Your comments regarding the breakfast, front desk staff and the feather pillows not being removed prior to your arrival are all being incorporated into our front desk training. We greatly appreciate your feedback and hope that you will give us an opportunity to show you how great we really are the next time you are in Little Rock!

What a pleasant surprise. Great hotel on a beautiful piece of land with a great lake to walk your dogs around. Great little pool, great landscaping, clean and simple but adequate breakfast. Nicely done.

My family and I like clean hotels otherwise we cannot relax and rest as many of you, but I stayed here on my way to Virginia for two days and it was the best hotel by far. The price was also a great one considering the room, it was very very clean, the amenities were also outstanding, and the staff was also very friendly and courteous. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE.

My husband and I were a little worried about our upcoming stay here based on some of the other reviews, but we stayed here for one night and were very pleased with our choice. We were so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Everything was very nice - including the staff. The room was a one bedroom suite with a kitchen; very clean and well decorated. The hotel itself is located at the end of a road, so unless someone was driving to the hotel or to the hotel next door, there is no reason to be on that road, which we always feel like is a plus. The hotel is located very close to restaurants and shops, just a short 1-2 minute drive away. Parking and breakfast are both free and the breakfast was very satisfactory. We had a military rate, so the deal was even sweeter. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for a couple days on a business trip. The property was well-kept and the rooms were comfortable. The free breakfast was good with sufficient variety of choices and the free internet worked well. The hotel was located in the suburbs--close to walmart and other stores. However, a car was necessary--the property was far from the sites of Little Rock and there was little to do in the area. Overall, it was a very good value and I would stay again.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

My husband and I traveled to Little Rock with our 22-year old daughter for a weekend of intensive apartment shopping for her August move to take an internship at UAMS. After researching hotel options extensively and reading all the reviews here, we settled on TownPlace Suites with some reservation. I was concerned about negative comments regarding staff, furnishings, and frankly, the low star rating. I needn't have worried. This hotel was absolutely perfect for the three of us for 3 nights.

We booked a 2 bedroom suite on the hotel website for $139/night. Our online preferences were acknowledged (high floor) and met (extra pillows). The suite had a nicely appointed kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave. The living area had a full size couch, two comfortable chairs,a hassock that doubled as a coffee table and a dining table with 4 chairs. The furnishings were modern and substantial (certainly not IKEA, as an early review suggested). Each bedroom had a queen size bed, two end tables, dresser and decent sized closet. The bathroom toilet/shower were separated from the sink by a door, and the sink area also closed off from the living area with a door, which allowed a number of options for privacy. Each room had a large window with blackout curtains and sheer drapes. We loved that the windows opened a few inches (rain sounds!), and also that each room had its own temperature control. It was amazing to have so much space! My only suggestion would be to add a make-up mirror to the bathroom counter area. I had to stand on tiptoes to get close enough to the wall mirror to put on my contact lenses, and I found my daughter sitting cross legged on the counter with her feet in the sink to get close enough to put on her makeup! There was a full length mirror on the back of our bedroom door, but I didn't discover it until much later.

The common areas of the hotel were very nice. The lobby is bright and modern. Two private business areas are set up with computers and printers. The gym was above average with two quality treadmills and a decent elliptical machine, free weights, TV (wall mounted and on each cardio machine), towels, and a water cooler. The pool is small and located in the front of the hotel, not a place I'd care to hang out but probably okay for the kids. I loved that the stairwells were carpeted, wide and open, which encouraged walking 4 flights to our room rather than taking the (slow) elevator. Breakfast was better than average with different offerings each day. We loved the real (not paper) plates, flatware and coffee mugs. We arrived on Thursday to the manager's reception of mini-hamburgers; it looked good, but but we did not partake.

The location was convenient to the highways we needed to get around to all the apartment complexes we visited. Other than providing decent access, the hotel is pretty isolated. Our windows looked out at the back of Walmart, the storm drainage retention pond, and the front of the hotel faces Comfort Suites. Nothing is really walking distance, since no sidewalks connect the hotel with the shopping areas. It was fine with us, since we were getting around by car. There is plenty of free parking.

All in all, a great visit to Little Rock and a great stay at a hotel exceptionally well suited for our needs this weekend.
