I still remember when Wild River Country first opened. It was far and above anything Arkansas had experienced. Spent many an evening soaking up sun and water in the Lazy River, floating in a tube on the Arkansas Ocean, and who could forget the old "Lightning Bolt" - that they finally took down due to liability (several people were injured over the years because of the drop angle) - but boy was it fun!
WRC has gone through some tough times - from tax issues, to poor maintenance. But in the last few years, far more effort has gone into promotion, repairs, and upkeep. Things are looking up for WRC. For this season (2013), there have been some renovations - repainting of many of the water attractions, and the park is more colorful now.
If they can keep the pump working in Tornado Alley, it should be a good season!
Oh - and the burgers here are actually pretty good - of course, you can't escape the smell of them cooking anywhere in the park!
Best value if you plan to go more than once - go ahead and buy a season pass.
Also of note - "Seniors" - over 60, I believe, get in free!!!
