“excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This place is not fancy but room was big and clean and the bed was comfy. The desk staff was excellent, it was quiet, and it was easy on and off the freeway. Wifi was good. It was well priced. Very good for a road trip

Room Tip: Upstairs is quieter

It's 11:30 p.m. The guests in the room above have been conducting an Easter egg hunt or possibly the world's only 200-person game of Twister® for oh, about 3 hours now. So you're getting my unbiased opinion of the Quality Inn a few hours earlier than expected.

The hotel is old and looks it. It's in dire need of a paint job from top to bottom. The room smells of cleaning supplies, possibly because it's a pet-friendly room and there are prominent scratches on the door. My guess is that someone's unattended Great Dane wanted to get out because the neighbors above were driving him crazy. It's also supposed to be a non-smoking room, but I have my doubts.

On the other hand, it's about 5 seconds from the interstate exit and within walking distance of Southern Utah University and the Shakespeare festival.

Room Tip: Try the Hampton Inn across town.

I am sorry that the guest above you were so loud, I would next time that you call the Front Desk so we can let the loud guests know that they are disturbing others; or we could have possibly move you to a different room with more considerate guests near by. We appreciate you staying with us and hope you will give us another try.

Been to a lot of choice hotels. This was older & showing its age. Breakfast was pretty good, comparably; liked the scrambled eggs w/peppers & onion & sausage gravy, good raised donuts & muffins, etc. Room was an adequate hcp accessible, comparably, but had some important deficiencies that it was obvious that a recent evaluation has not been done. Window heater/cooler does not cycle on/off. Can be a problem if you can't handle constantly blowing air. Mattress was hard & uncomfortable. Pillows were plentiful & fluffy. Location a short drive from the festival.

this is a older hotel but its not as bad as some. the room was clean, bed made and the water came out at just the right temp. breakfast isn't bad. make your own waffles, biscuts and gravy, juice, cold cereals, but whatever you do AVOID the scrambled eggs!! they taste like chalk. but overall a nice stay. we would stay again.

We had been on the road all day long and knew we couldn't drive any farther. To our disappointment, our "usual" hotels (Hampton, Holiday Inn, etc) were all booked to capacity due to a large number of tour groups. We remembered this Quality Inn from about five years ago, and remembered that it was a clean, no-frills but comfortable establishment.
We don't know what happened in the intervening years, but this place certainly went downhill! It was dreadful. The room was not cleaned properly: I think they replaced the bed linens and the bathroom towels and cleaned the sinks, but that's about it. The carpet wasn't vacuumed, the shower was a bit dingy, there were crumbs or something in the air conditioner and the front window had smeary handprints. The tv remote didn't work, the freakin' toilet didn't flush, for pity's sake!!
OK, so we MIGHT have been able to overlook everything (except the non-functioning toilet) if the room was cheap, but they charged $100.00 for the night! They took advantage of the fact that people were road-weary and unable to find lodging, and they knew they were the only game in town. Yes, they have a right to make a profit, but come ON! What kind of racket are they running? I am writing to their corporate office, and I'm going to tell everyone I know to stay ANYwhere but here.

We had to go to Cedar City for an emergency visit with an old friend. I picked this hotel as we are members of Choice Privileges and usually stay with the chain. This hotel was a disappointment. It was clean but TV reception was terrible and the shower/tub was slippery. I asked for a non-slip mat and was told that they don't carry them in any Choice Hotel. Not safe when you are an older person. Also the bed was awful. When I complained about it I was told all Choice Hotels had the same Serta beds. This may be true but I wonder when the bed was purchased. Breakfast was OK but not as good as some of the other chain's hotels. Won't stay here again.

Stayed in this hotel one night. The room smelled moldy and old. The worst, I found lots of hair in the bathroom, hanging on the towels and in the bathtub ( you know those tiny curly black hair)! YUCK!
Breakfast room smelled like a bucket of bleach. The only good thing. Waffelmaker at breakfast. :-)
