“cleanliness is lacking, especially in bathroom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2010

We found human hair on the bathroom floor and the bathtub the night we checked in!!
The hotel shows its age, especially the carpeting in places is showing stains and wear.
The check-in was flawless. The breakfast was not that great. No biscuits and gravy!!

Stopped in Cedar City on our way home from vacation. We enjoy Hampton Inns, and this one didn't disappoint. The 2 young women working the front desk couldn't have been any more friendly. They were quite helpful in giving dinner recommendations. Our room was a nice relief from 10 hours in the car. The room was large with a king bed, desk, sofa and chair. The property was very quiet and comfortable. I love that Hampton Inns launder the bedspreads or comforter's daily, and the room was immaculately clean.
The hotel is located in a newer area of Cedar City, and there are many restaurants within walking distance such as Quiznos Subs, Subway, Del Taco, Applebee's, Chili's, Winger's (see my review), and a Japanese restaurant. Also nearby is a movie theater, and is right off Highway 15 making it a great stop when traveling.
The only disappointment if anything is the breakfast was rather bland with not many choices. I am not concerned about that as I don't stop at a hotel for it's breakfast, but for families with small children, that may be something you want to keep in mind. Yogurt and a muffin were a great start to my morning.
Next time we are driving through Cedar City on a road trip, my reservation will be at the Hampton Inn.

I had a king suite here and really enjoyed it.

I've read the complaints from a number of reviewers about the small size of the rooms. The king suite wasn't small at all, although it isn't really a suite (a term abused by the hotel industry), but rather a single, large room, with a fridge, microwave and second sink by the door. The single king bed is situated at the far end of the room, away from the door and next to the stairway. Neighbor noise was not a problem.

More on room size: I booked the king suite through the hotel's Web site. However, when I checked in, I asked for another type of room because the king suite has a connecting door with the room next to it. I generally prefer to avoid rooms with connecting doors because at other hotels they've been transparent to sound. The desk clerk told me that she could give me a room without connecting doors but warned that it would be a lot smaller, so I stayed with the suite. I'm glad I did. The adjacent room was occupied, but I heard no noise from it through the door or wall.

I'm surprised to see the hotel is at least six years old, judging from the oldest review. That's usually the age at which things start to break and wear out. Everything in my room worked well, indicating that the hotel is well maintained.

Stayed one night. Rooms were smallish but very well appointed and clean. The two people at the front desk were cheerful and friendly and welcoming. Bed was very comfortable. Location near a starbucks and family friendly restaurants like applebees was a plus. wireless included which helped alot. breakfast in morning was fine.

It's in a great location, right off the freeway in an area full of newer shops and restaruants. The indoor pool is smallish, but well heated, however it lacks a hot tub. Good breakfast, decent staff, great location, comfortable beds and the rooms are clean and nice.

Friendly service is what sets this hotel apart. Room was large and clean. The place was crawling with dozens of youth athletes during my stay so I couldn't tell whether the place was poorly sound-proofed or whether people were constantly running and jumping above my room and in the hallway.

The decor of this hotel is attractive and the staff is friendly. I wish I could rate it higher, but the rooms are very small. Our room with 2 queen beds was okay for two people, but it would have been extremely cramped with three and intolerable with four...even if the third and fourth were small children.

There is virtually no room between the bed and the window. The desk is squeezed into the corner and the easy chair is tucked between the desk and the television. It's extremely tight. This hotel has much smaller rooms than the standard Hampton Inn, and I can't understand why. It's not in a big city or high end resort area where land costs are excessive. It just has tiny rooms. It's too bad because, otherwise, this is a nice place.

The nearby Holiday Inn Express has much larger rooms, and I would recommend it over this Hampton Inn.
