Good location in Manhattan.
renovated room
Good equipped with mini fridge and safe
Good wifi in the room

Terrible elevators. New York's slowest?
Waiting period of over 5 minutes was not unusual.

Spent six nights here while on a trip from Stockholm to celebrate my 50th.
The front desk couldn't have been more helpful, and the rooms were spacious (for Manhattan) and very clean! The renovated bathrooms are a big highlight!
We stayed on the 8th floor in two of the renovated twin rooms with enough space for two adults carrying plenty of luggage.

During renovation, only one of the two elevators are in use for guests, which can be frustrating.

There's no breakfast included but next door you'll find a coffee shop with discount for hotel guests.

Location is right on 5th Avenue, two minutes from Empire State Building. Walk to Madison Square Garden in 5, Times Square in 15 and to West Village in 30 minutes.

The question us how budget friendly it will be after the renovations, we managed to get a double/double for under $200 per night.
I would definitely stay here again if I could still afford it! In fact, I would insist on it!

We were unsure of what to expect having heard rooms were small and very expensive. The hotel is going through a refurb at the moment and although you see the hallmarks of this we were in refurbished rooms and they are lovely and we were not affected by the work. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and helpful. You leave the hotel walk a few yards and to the right you see the Empire State Building just up the way and in the opposite direction to see the flat iron building so your in the heart of Manhattan.
The only negative thing I can say, and it didn't impact massively on our stay, is the elevator which is very slow.
I would definitely return to stay here.

still a good place to stay, but not as independent as it was, miss the quirky nature of the place. Staff great, rooms nice but small. You have to wait ages for the lift as well, but the place is well worth a visit

Value for money is missing! Due to construction/renovation work, the atmosphere was noisy and dusty! Staff was very friendly, but thats not enough for a comfortable stay: the rooms are far too small - even for the discounted group rate! Would not go back again.

Great place to stay in NYC, close to everything like subway, stores, restaurants and the Empire State! :)
Wonderful staff, pleased to assist you anytime. The hotel is under refurbish, but we didn't hear any kind of noise before 9am (we were out everyday before that!)

Room was adequate very small no drawer space. Tiny bathroom with no counter space bed was comfortable. Overall cleanliness was fair at best. No lobby or areas to relax or have a drink or coffee Overall disappointing especially for the cost!
